Hi folks,

Sent my baby to the dealer to check out a few things before my extended warranty runs out.

1. Front-end clunk since day one (TSB)
2. Passenger compartment water leak (TSB)
3. Automatic shifter not engaging D (4th) when upshifting from 3rd
4. Radio - CD changer has trouble ejecting / loading CD

Well, all of them were verified by a Ford tech.

Easycare will only cover the friggin' radio.

Any ideas how to get these repairs done under warranty?

Thanks
SOHC

PS: Reposted this from another board since I'd like your experiences with Easycare.

so what are the details of your warranty? Usually electronics, such as the radio, are only covered under the most comprehensive plans meaning that if it is covered then so is everything else. I would pull out your warranty papers and figure out what is and isn't covered. How many miles is your warranty to coverage for? You have an 06 right?

What level coverage do you have - PowertainCare, BaseCare, ExtraCare, or PremiumCare? And what is EasyCare? Ford calls their warranty ESP - Extended Service Plan (https://www.genuineservice.com/genuineservice/en/default?page=new_esp_browse). Did you buy yours from the dealer?

I'll check it again when I get home.

It what I got from the dealer with my new car.

I have the maximum coverage for the plan.

for me it has been. my dealership has fixed a ton on things on my car that were not cheap. that includes the auto shifter, the ecu, and the leather seats.

Why'd you wait so long to get them done?

Most plan state they will not fix: squeaks, rattles or water leaks. However, since there is a TSB out on the front-end clunk, and the water leak they should fix it since it is a defect with the car, not parts worn over time.

Best of luck!

Didn't.

This is round 2.

Last time I brought it in for these, there were no TSBs out.

The radio is a "new" problem.

Easy Care sounds like it should be called Easy Money or Easy Suckers!

Here's the TSB on the clunking noise;

http://www.stangnet.com/images/stories/docs/s197_TSBs/07-18-02.pdf

Make sure you copy it and give your Ford dealer a copy too.

Oh, I have the TSBs.

The dealer agrees, the extended warranty won't cover them.

Oh, well, they have my new radio anyway.
