I was cruising back to LA from Malibu last night, and went by a red (one of two "corvette torch red" in the world) convertible Aston Martin DB9. He paced behind me in traffic, and I let him catch up. Things did not end up how you would ever expect, though...
I got next to him in 3rd at 70mph, and tried the 3honk, and took off. He didn't. Instead he caught up and gave me thumbs down. WTF?
He rolled down the window and said, "You want a real race? Follow me." Now things were getting interesting...I was following a $200k car from Malibu to Hollywood at midnight on a Saturday in Los Angeles...I wonder where to...
We pull over in a gas station, and we try to arrange a race against his "street car on radials" STI. He showed me a picture of it...it had a parachute!
Obviously I didn't bite, though I offered to race for the cost of gas for it just to see what it could do. He said to add two or three zeros on to that, and we'd have a deal. Then he said he'd race any car I had or any car I could bring, for as much as I was willing to bet...and that the last race he had with it was for $50k.
His STI was an 8.80s car that is a two-time NHRA drag champion. I'm bringing an "acquaintance's" 7second turbo Mustang to race him next weekend, if all goes according to plan.

Sounds kinda like a rich prick. "I'll race you for thousands of dollars with my 8 second drag car" = ghey. I hope your friend with the Mustang spanks him

I doubt they will race for $50k, knowing my friend. Five thousand or maaaaaaybe ten thou is a very real possibility though.
I will try to work something out with them, though.
