Well tonight I drove a Cobra for the first time. It is an 03' w/ 21k miles, pulley, chip, and tuned. Car felt very strong. However, I have few q's. He replaced the clutch w/ a spec III. I noticed right off the bat that it "shuttered"...like a vibration when you first take off in 1st, etc. He said that it was just put in, and that it needs to break in. Thoughts on this??? The car is in very excellent condition as far as the physical appearence. Also, is it normal to hear the gears...it was pretty loud as if there was no boot between the shifter and the tranny. He said that was normal as well. He is asking $25,500 obo w/ 21k miles. Thanks again...Shane.

The clutch chatter is normal - mine with a spec 3 does too... the clunk you hear on shift is from a weak rear end... most Cobras develop it.. but it's not normal...
I have a spec 3+ and it chatters. It gets a little better as time goes but still does it. Does it have after market gears if so the could be loud or if he has an adjustable pinion flange it will also be louder because it aluminum and the sound travels thru it and makes noise and travels thru the driveline.. That price is really good IMO.

I have an 03 as well and my factory rear has 22K on it and the gears are very loud when cruising. I've heard that any new performance cluch will make noise when new, I had a 90 GT that I put a centerforce in and it chattered. $25,500 for an 03/04 Cobra with anything under 30K miles is a good deal if the car isn't beat.
Yeah the car is in excellent condition. It just bothered me when I felt the cluth vibrate a little when first taking off. Again, he said over time when it "breaks in" that it will stop the chatter. I am going to call the place here in ATL where he got it tuned to ask the same question. Thanks again for all the advice guys. Other than that, the car is a beast! He had the dyno chart and it dynoed at 460ish...forgot the exact number.
Mine was in my rear end... the thing that holds your gears was coming loose (sorry 2 hours sleep and already been up for 4 hours)... lol... all the shims and whatnot had to be replaced...
