To borrow a line from Cars, "Man, your so rusty, you don't even have a shadow!" That car oughta keep you busy and out of trouble for a while. There a blast. Stick with it. Are you going to do the body & frame work yourself or are you farming that out?

ORIGINAL: fastbackford351 To borrow a line from Cars, "Man, your so rusty, you don't even have a shadow!" That car oughta keep you busy and out of trouble for a while. There a blast. Stick with it. Are you going to do the body & frame work yourself or are you farming that out? There is a "crew" involved in this one. My Dad is a fabric man and has done custom interiors, Two good friends are (Or have been) body men and worked on classics alot. I have another friend who is an ASE Master Mech. and loves elect. challenges. Yes, we are doing the whole thing, practically building the entire car from scratch, thats why we are building a frame jig rather than going with the rotisserie. Rotisserie may come when the frame is done if it seems the job merits it, and if so we will "Build" a rotisserie. In addition to the crew mentioned above, my Brother is an airframe mechanic (If it needs to be fabricated, lightweight and strong, he's the guy). With the group we have (And we are a quite screwy bunch ) .... anything is possible. If we need to build it, we'll build it. If we need to refab. it, we'll do that. Mostly with this bunch, it's meeting the challenge that the day to day no longer gives us. After hearing all the ideas these guys toss around, my head is spinning and I sometimes shudder to think what the car may really end up looking like. They have even spoke of trying to put a modern chassis under it from a car that is 3" wider and 113" center of wheel to center of wheel vs. 108" ( '91 Cougar LS, another item we have just sitting around). I could see cutting the length but I'm not sure how they would fudge the width. I'm afraid of ending up with a car that looks like one that was "Dressed for Halloween" that I saw in another thread. (Kevin's if I remember right). It was one wild looking crop.

That's better. I can see more details now. I use a program called PIXresizer to resize images. It does a great job and it's freeware. http://www.download.com/PIXresizer/3000-12511_4-10742662.html?tag=lst-1 Sounds like you've got a heck of a crew working on your Rustang. Can't wait to see more
