DAn,careful who youre calling kids.looks like we "kids" might be answering youre questions a few times. lol Well let you stay in the young category. too hahaha. Youre only as old as you lt yourself get.And to the reply about soaring, that was one of the other things i noticed, few people know soaring when we reference him.I didnt particularly care for him but he offered a lot of good solid advice
At least a few members have joined as a result of MustangForums links posted on other boards either as an official advertisement or by individual mention in a post. In my case, I think it was through ProbeTalk, so with a (non-running, not mine yet) '66 sitting in my garage I stopped in. And stayed.
I really can't tell if 8 months here makes me part of the "old guard" or a newbie. Or adrift somewhere in the middle.
To at least a few of us, if you're only ~40 you're still only a kid, so, ummm, nevermind (and I'll save everybody the trouble of calling me an old f*rt by typing it myself) . . . . . . Anyway, as far as I'm concerned, help and good information is where you find it. Sometimes it takes experience, other times a fresh eye or the ability to look outside the box.

Fairly new to this forum, but been a Mustang owner for 29 years. Owned my current car for the past 27 years. Did the full resto, so know a bit about 1st gen cars. Oh ya, I'm 44.
Yeah thats funny, they slap a turbo onto a 4 banger to keep up with our V8's...
Or slap a turbo onto a 4 banger to NOT keep up with out V8's ....
Yeah its weird that alotta people don't know who Soaring or Mojo or Chicken is... I kinda miss their comments and stuff, even if Soaring was kind of a duesche every now and then... lol But yeah a lot of us are younger, and know a few things cuz we've spent so much time out in the garage turning wrenches. And I actually got offered a job a several auto stores, not because I don't wanna work at Walmart, but cuz I could answer their customers questions better than the people behind the counter.

Acualy I think it's great that so many younger people are into the Mustangs, be it for improving speed, restoration or both. Improving knowledge is never a bad thing and you can't be into these cars without doing that. Not too many other places where 17,18, - 22 year olds would just strike up a conversation with a 40-60 year old on the spur of the moment.
I am not old, nor am I in my 20's. But I love seeing someone my age or younger owning these cars. Kids today seem to be caught up in the ricer + huge annoying fart can exhaust crowd.
hi guys, well im new to this board but ive been on some other classic stang sites and can still contribute a lil info now and then. ive owned a total of 11 mustangs since 1979 and helped buddys of mine rebuild theirs. As of now i still have a car i bought in 79 for 1800.00 dollars. its a factory paint 71 mach1 cleveland car.i still drag race too i have a super comp car (dragster) that is for sale by the way...lol. so i hope i can learn a lil and maybe help a lil bit by coming on here and doing some reading from time to time..oh yea im a old guy too...lol This is my super comp car
IM 46 yo had my first 66 coupe when i was 16 and owned it for 15 years. Recently came across a 66 convertible that im restoring. I typed in mustangs one day and found you guys, and what can i say, this is an awsome site, so much help out there from experienced folks.
I stumbled upon this site after doing a search and I am glad I did. It is a great place for info. I've had three 69's and my latest one hopefully will be my last. I didn't have one for the last 6 years and missed the sweet v-8 rumble. I got involved with the diesel truck modding and won a couple of races with it locally but I missed the sound and rumble of a v-8. So I found me a nice project 69 mustang. Glad I found it and this site. A lot of good info and great group of people here.

Hey Guys, I am new to the forums, but not to Mustangs. My first Mustang was a 1966 c code coupe that I got when I turned 16. Since then I have had 5 more, including an 85 GT, 85 Saleen, and a 93 LX 5.0. I joined the forums because I just bought a 66 6 cyl that I am going to be converting to an 8 cyl with modern tocuhes to make it a daily driver.
Some of my plans for the car include a T5 conversion, 4 wheel disk brakes, TCP manual rack, 8.8 rear end with 3.55 gears, and late model Bullitt wheels. Tungsten gray with Black interior.
I am thinking about the TMI sport seats, any thoughts?
Lol, wow, look at that front end! Looks like your going to blast off for the moon
Yeah, it's a little lite on the front end with no motor or tranny!!! LOL

As long as nice looking 6 cyl coupes like yours can be found for the right price, these conversions will become more and more popular.... I am a huge fan of this procedure... A nice clean relativley rust free body allows more time and money to go to the fun stuff,,, like engines, drivetrains, and suspension.....
Nice looking car man....

I found this place while looking for info. Boy am I glad I found it. It's a nice place to hang out. I have had my fastback for 18 years and my race car, this one, for 4 years.
I am new to this forum but not to Mustangs. My present Mustang is a 1973 Mach 1 with a few updrades. Right now it is in the paint shop about to be painted blue with black trim in a '71 paint scheme. Once it's done I'll take some pics and post them up.

Since I signed up way back when, it seems new members keep filling in and the old members slowly drift away. Everyone I knew from when I first signed up disappeared haha...
Welcome to all the noobs!
I know what you mean. I hardly see Emperor (occasionally in OT) or 65Mojoe on here anymore and I never see Soaring anymore since that thing happened.
But it's great that we have all these new members. Welcome to the forums and enjoy!
i dont think emperor has his classic mustang anymore. i think he ended up with a new shelby or something.
but yeah, seems like all the members who were here when i joined have left...well except like jamesw, dodgestang, superdavid and the like.
but at any rate, welcome to all the new members, this site has helped me many times and is a great source
Valley Firearms has been on here for a good while also.. I have gone back in the archives a few times to look at the turnover from time to time. If memory serves me, VF was here before the account for Soaring was active...
Speaking of VF, has anyone seen him lately?

I just saw VF on here a couple weeks ago on a post about white paint, haven't seen him since. That whole mess he had with his 347 really sucked. And I didn't mean to call everybody over 40 old and ancient. I meant someone older than me and I used 40 as an example. You're old when you start getting letters from the AARP like my dad who got one last week. Sorry Norm but from what you said I'm going to guess that the old still includes you .
