I have a 1990 5.0 that I am starting to modify and need some information on how to get 18" rims to fit under my mustang. I cant stand it when I see people destroy hundreds of dollars of tires due to rubbing. I want to make suspension upgrades to lower the car but dont know how low I can go without rubbing. Also some info on the 5 lug conversion process.

       Any info would be thankful.

wow u got alot planned for this car huh??? well let's c the only real way to get 18's to fit is basiclly start with saleen rims.. for those u need the 5 lug conversion.. to do that u need almost the whole entire rear end of a sn95 body.. jsut about the same with the front... then u need springs.. i'm not too familar with the foxbody and rubbing issues, when it coems to tires.. i know that i haven't seen too many people put 18's on a fox...if u can i'm pretty sure they arn't going to be very fat... well good luck..

i can't really help w/the modification to 18's, but if your really into racing, i would just stick to the good ole 17x9's. unless your making an all out drag car. let me know how mod work out!!

Thanks for the info. Now that I know that putting 18s on would be more work than what its worth, I think I will stick to the 17". Wich brings up another question, what is a good rim width and tire size combo? Someone mentioned 17x9, is that the front and back? Will I still have to eliminate the quad shocks in the back?

    Thanks again, Racing333

17x8 in the front, and 17x9 in the back. check ebay, they have some pretty good combo deals that come with tires
