^ Yeah, they're some big cars. Their weight is the main thing that turns me off about them. And the fact that they don't offer a manual. The first photo puts into perspective how small the R34 is....

Yeah, but for $80K? I'll take an LS3 Vette for $39K and just add CAI and Exhaust...
I don't think you can really buy an LS3 Vette for 39K. And I don't think a cai and exhaust will put it ahead of a GT-R, either

Callaway has already slipped a Stock LS3 with just CAI running mid 11, putting it right there with a GT-R. Check out corvetteforum.com, they documetned the slip. Also, larger dealers are selling the base LS3 Vette for $39K. See Kerbecks.com
Has anyone actually seen the physical size of the thing compared to the old skylines?
It is a bloody huge car in comparison. Now you know where all the weight comes from.
I agree that thing is obese.
Ok, now somebody do the same thing with the last 4 generations of the mustang, cuz its just about the same problem. I love the way the new mustangs look, but they're just too big in every single dimension.

I'm not sure why vehicles are generally getting bigger, but I think it is because of all the safety equipment they have to add to make it "safe". I also venture to say that I think vehicle size would go down if SUV's didn't exist. The safety equipment could be scaled down because they wouldn't have to take a hit from a 5000lb + SUV, but I guess people need their comfort and security (regardless if it will kill someone if they cause the crash).
Also, have you noticed that vehicle size appears to be at least slightly cyclical? Look at the enormous boats that people were driving in the 50's, which then shrank in the 60's, grew again in the early 70's, shrank in the 80's... We'll see if my theory pans out.

Sounds like a cycle to me too, I wish we could get the power, small size, and less weight all at once however. anyways...the GT-R has a nice wide stance but I think they might of overdone it because it looks a whole foot wider!
When i said better i really meant something that i would like more, not necessarily faster, my bad for not bein' specific. The other thing is, even though the Gt-R may run a 3.4 or 3.5 0-60, you'll never be able to tell the difference between that and a z06 which does 3.7, which can be had at a slightly lower price than the GT-R. Don't get me wrong though, the GT-R is a car that i have a lot of respect for, I personally just wouldnt have it on the top of my list if i had that kind of money.

No, that's fine. I was just wondering what you meant.
As for the performance stats, you're forgetting one thing. It will take a good driver to pull off those times in the Z06. The GT-R on the other hand, w/ it's awd and DSG trans is practically failproof. Not to mention it will outlaunch the Vette. So I'd be willing to bet quite a fair share of Z06 vs GT-R brawls end up in the Nissan's favor.....
