I got hood, door and side scoops painted for free! from a family friend who owns a body shop. but the guy said for the hood alone he would charge 600+. But it depends how good the work is and the body shop you go to... Hes got a shop in San Francisco and he does work on lots of exotic and domestic cars ( ferraris, mercedes, etc.) Another guy said he'd charge around $500 that much but since he knew me he would charge me $250.00, so just shop around more to get a better deal..

I have a friend charging me 1200 for a custom paint flammed paint job on my car. I know i am getting an awesome deal because he is a friend but my point is that i know he is still makeing probably 500-600 dollars if not a little more, its a lot of work, but 525 for a hood seems about 200 over priced unless your getting some custom airbrush in it which i doubt you are, i would go find another body shop.
