just winbdering, but, can ford tell easily if you have had your heads ported and polished, and cams reground other than if they take your engine apart?

You'll need to have a dyno tune done to your car after a P&P and cams.  Otherwise your car will run like doo-doo.  Ford will see the tune when they run a diagnostic.  I would think that anybody who's seriously thinking about cams and P&P their heads isn't much concerned about their warranty.

i knew it would need a tune, but i guess what im really asking is will the engine still run (maybe not perfect but well enough) with a stock tune? or will it be really ugly? and as far as reliability (because the only reson id be taking the car back to ford would be for repairs (obviously for things other than the engine)) are the heads/cams reliable? as far as a DD goes? i just dont wanna take the car back to ford and have them blame my blown rearend on my engione mods and then id have to pay big bucks for a fix.  i dont mind having the work done if it will hold up over time, so i guess what im asking is are heads and cams a solid way to make power, so if i beat on the car a few times a month everything will hold up alright?

If they take off your manifolds and if the tech was sly enough they could tell material had been removed from the exhaust runner.  I think what everyone is trying to say is that if you are concerned about taking in your car for a warranty issue you shouldnt undertake a mod like this until your warranty is up.

He might have the extended warranty too! Then he could have to face a big decision if he wants heads/cam, or other n/a power. And I doubt you will be able to run a stock tune w/an aftermarket cam. So you will have warranty problems with this mod.

the car will not run without throwing codes without a tune, I tried.  LOL   it wouldnt make it 2 miles without doing so, I had some warranty work done, its about 2 miles to the dealer, didnt think it would make it there, a dyno tune will be an absolute must! I told the dealer straight up that my 2 year old car with 16k miles had a built motor and would run rough while they had it and to not worry about it, they fixed my door and stereo problem and sent me on the way, even washed the car when they were done.

im not really concerned about my engine really. i guess its just the other parts, and i dont want ford b!tching about the reason my one of my windows rolls up/down slower than the other or my gears leaking or something stupid and blaming it on my reprogrammed computer and my engine upgrades.

well i should say that im not really concerned about my engine warranty. not my engine. and does anyone happen to know of any shops around the Columbus, Ohio area that are pretty reputable? i havent really found one yet, but i'd like to find one soon for my car and my dad's (mostly for my dad's cause his work is gonna happen sooner than mine) so if anyone know of anywhere good i could go to, id appreciate any suggestions.

well if you aren't concerned about your engine or more so drivetrain (transmission, engine, rear end, etc.) just go for it.  Legally they can't void the warranty on anything your mods don't directly effect, so if your windows get ****ed up and it has nothing to do with your mods, they have to cover it.

I picked up about 100 hp with mine, and even though I have a blower, keep in mind we lost 2.5 psi in the process.

And as you said Bill, they do sound good

Tony, did you get to dyno without the blower? I think the PH cams are a little more aggressive, sure would like to see what they are doing also
