Thanks everyone and I got a chance to drive it after we raced and it handles very well but all its power is way up high with its redline all the way to 7800. Once you get there though its pretty nice.

i cant get used to that... it just annoys the crap outta me that i have to rev that far to get the power...

If you drive a car with that powerband for a while though it can be nice. I personally get annoyed when a car falls on its face up top. My BMW was cammed and had a different intake mani - etc. which openned the top end up but killed it below 3,000 RPM's. Doesn't matter once you get running, just hurt it a hair in traffic. I'm sure the Si is geared similarly, and its nice to have high RPM flat torque curves because you can gear them down and put the same torque at the wheels for a longer period of time than a peaky torque curve thats lower.

im sure given a car, i could get used to it, and may end up liking it... the last time i drove my friends civic tho... i wasnt even reving it that hard (it didnt have a tach) and i thought i was on the verge of blowing the engine up... (no rev limiter either) it made me nervous. i guess i wasnt even pushing it to hard tho, which is the funny part. going from my car to a small, weight reduction, no tach, full exhaust swapped civic felt so weird

No tach???
nope... the thing is from the 80's... so no surprise. but the high revving, mixed with the fart can, and no way to know where i was at... (i dont need the tach in my car, but i didnt have a feel for this one)... i had no idea where i was. was like a little go kart tho... its gutted... so its light as hell.

x2... I miss my CC306 setup... no real power below 3500rpm but spinning up into the mid 6Ks (never brave enough to try for 7k) that thing would impress. Hell I managed to pull a 360 Modena from a roll with a cam only LT1... who can complain?? LOL

Ha...theres some kid in my town with one of those. Everytime I see him he gives me this hard "ill smoke you" kinda look. But I've heard him drive by multiple times, and I can't hear a power adder.
My best friend has an 06 Si. His car is bone stock ...I run 14.5 at 93 in the 1/4 mile. We have raced over 20 times and he hasnt won 1 yet. From a roll he does a bit better but i still pull on him .From a dig its a no contest. I have driven the car .....and to get a good lauch on them you need to drop the clutch at over 5K. I have even tried it at 8k and it wont break anything....at least not yet lol. The car handles great and its very fun drive......as long as you keep it high in the powerband. Great kill.
Nice kill man, but I did expect you to lose. There have been many of the new Si's to run 14.7-14.8 stock, so with him not having his car long he wasnt that great of a driver in it. They are hard to drive and land in vtec, just like the RSX-S and like the Celica GTS. Find a good driver that can shift and the new Si's will beat any stock v6 Stang.
