Default Wheel Spacers

I recently purchased a pair of Maximum Motorsports 1" wheel spacers. The directions say that under certain applications, some of the stock lugs will have to be cut off with a grinder so the wheel will sit flush. Has anyone ever installed these on a stock 03/04 Mach 1 with stock wheels (rear only) and if so, have you had to cut the stock lugs?
Thanks!

Default RE: Wheel Spacers

Had some 1.25" on my 96 GT. Fit just fine, but if you pulled out of a driveway wrong or got that rear end to flex funny that rear fender loved to bite that tire. My tires were chewed up like a mother. If your car isn't lowered you should be okay but if it is then I'd stay away from the spacers...

Definitely not lowered. Completely stock. I just want the rear wheels to protrude a bit more, mostly for looks. I am not interested in cutting the lugs, and will get wider wheels if necessary. Spacers just seemed to be the best way to do what I wanted.
Thanks for the info!

They are the stock wheels: 17 x 8-inch Magnum 500-style "Heritage Style" (5 spoke). I love the looks of them, and they do make wider aftermarket replicas if the spacers do not work out.

What's the point in making your tires stick out further than what they should be? Is it just cuz its supposed to look cool...

Cool has nothing to do with it. That would imply that I care what others think about how it looks. I like it.. that's all that matters.

I had 275's when they would bite the fender on my GT. If you have 245's w/ stock suspension w/ the spacers you'll be good to go

I put them on my stock '03 Mach 1 and had no problems.Ilike the look of them also. The wider stance looks good and is a lot cheaper than buying wider wheels.
