You can't reuse the screws in the new grill (they will fit but wont do anything). Take a look at it and you will understand why they wont work.

Hmm, I kinda see what you mean now. I never really looked too much at it before.

Did you go out and buy something different, or did you just use what you had?

Nope, I used the tape that was on the grill. If you look at it there are two holes on the top corners of the new grill that get held in on top of the bumper with those push pin things (which are already on the car). That helps hold it down. You'll see what I mean when you go to put it on.
Just make sure the bumper is VERY clean before you use the tape.
Like I said mine's been like that for around a month and it has been fine.

Ok, cool. It should be easy as pie as soon as the bolts come off. My boyfriend is bound and determined to get them off and put the new grill on. So I know it'll get done, he begs me everyday to go out in the SNOW and work on it. lol.

Finally got the grill off and got the mach 1 grill on!!

It looks awesome!! I'll post some pics when it's not so nasty outside.

My dad is all upset that the radiator seems to be exposed, or so he says. Anyone had any problems with that? He thinks a rock is gonna fly up in there.

Its the stock grill off a Mach 1 Mustang, I don't think Ford would have used it if it could cause a problem.
If if makes your dad feel better, most full size trucks have grill openings that are atleast the size of the Mach 1 grill without any problems.

See, mine came from mustangtuning.com and is the 3 piece set, but no new hardware. I suppose I'm supposed to use the old hardware then?

i guess so. Mine came from steeda. I think it just snapped in, and glued down with double sided tape. Then it came with a couple bolts to hold the horse on, and screw the top piece down with existing..

thats how joes was.

I told him they came on the machs, so I dunno why he's all upset. It's my car anyways.

The grill delete that came stock on my 2003 Mach 1 was held on the bottom by push nuts instead of screws. PITA to remove. I've taken off a honeycomb grill with the four screws and speednuts on the bottom and it was a little easier, but not by much.

Doing the grill on a friend's '01 wasn't hard at all once we took the bumper off.
Taking off the bumper isn't that hard either (especially if you have a hoist available) once you figure out that all you have to do is take out of a few pushpins from the top and side of the bumper and four screws from the inside of the fenders.
