Whats up guys new guy here. Had a couple good races past couple days. First was a C5 vette. I had just gotten off of work and jumped on I95 headed home when I saw the familiar lights of a vette a little way back, so I slowed down and waited on him to see if he was game. So as he started to pass i sped up and got beside him and jumped foward to see if he would take the bait. We toyed around with each other until we got on a good straight stretch of road, then at 80 he and I punch it, he gets the jump and by 90 I am pulling hard by 100 I have a car by 110 about 2.5 and it just got ugly til about 125 3 + cars. Afterwards we honk horns and head our seperate ways. The vette was stock. Then was a late 80's 944 turbo. We had both got on the exit ramp together and he hit it around the curve and well no way in hell I out handle a porsche so I dont bother and until we get lined up on a straight road. To make a long story short 70-100 absolutely slaughter the guy. Probably didnt need the spray but why not rub it in right? Sorry for the novel.

I am guessing that you sprayed on him? Thats the only way I could see a 98 pulling on a vette like that. Vettes are made for good top end speed. Im not trying to hate on you, just kind of hard to believe. Just my .02$
Had to. It is headswapped too so its putting down pretty good power before the gas but not Ls1 power. By the way 5-0 vs. C5's. Why buy the N20 if your not going to use it.

I'm calling BS, C5 w/borla exhaust = 358 fwhp @ 5610 rpms and 366 torque @ 4020 rpms. No way your 302 could hang, expecially top end. Maybe wasn't full throttle? Stock 302 = 225 fwhp - drivetrain loss 189 at the wheels. I've outrun many a mustang with my nearly stock TA that have nearly the exact mods you have, minus the 100 shot. A C5 eats me alive

first of all a nearly stock LT1 is barely a 14.0 car, i know i used to own one. second he doesnt have a 302. he has a 4.6 modular engine. and in case you didnt know with a pi head swap and basic bolt ons they will dyno over 300 rwhp. and your fwhp = front wheel horespower. C-5's are Rear wheel, not front wheel, as are mustangs. being a stock LT1, yes a C5 will eat you alive. they run low 14's. top end? modualr engines are OHC engines, with make most of thier power at top end. his 98 mustang with those mods will roast your stock LT1 w/o nitrous. i speak as an owner of a 98 GT, about to do a pi swap, and a former LT1 owner.

No one has ever heard of fwhp (fly wheel horsepower) My stock LT1 = 275 hp 330 lb torque. 2003 GT = 260hp 302 torque. My car stock 1/4 = 13.9 with an auto tran, 1999 Mustang GT 1/4 = 14.1 with auto tran. I know you have a 1998, I couldn't find the stats for that. These are from Car&Driver BTW. I can see how that engine is way more powerful. You made a believer out of me. Front wheel horepower....hahahahahahaha
What LT1 did you own? Must have been old or in bad shape. No stock mustang, excuse me, N/A mustang is going to outrun a stock LS1 or most LT1's. I know, what about the cobra, well lets supercharge a LT1 or LS1 and see what happens. It's sad to have to supercharge everything to make them run.

First off, you said FWHP, dumbass.
2nd, Fbody's weigh much more than a GT. 3rd, don't get too cocky, F-bodies no longer remain in production. There's a reason for that...
And you're ignoring the quarter mile times for what reason? My M6 TA ran 13.79 @ 101 mph on street tires. This was with a mere slowmaster muffler. Now it has an electric exhaust C/O. It's really loud, but the police love it.
Everyone and their brother can afford a Mustang. All the kids think they're cool. We actually have one in the garage, uh oh. Thats right, they're good project cars cause they're cheap. 460 in this one though.
Wow.....finally an intelligent comment. Actually there are way more Mustangs here than anything. I left my class today and seen 5 mustangs before I exited the smallest parking section at the school. Apparently there is something to these things, I just don't know what? They're like Hondas, oh just to be one of the cool guys.

i had a 30th anniversary edition Z28 with an 80 series flowmaster exhaust. an auto LT1 doesnt run a high 13 my man. every near stock one ive seen is about 14 flat. i owned one, i know. and since your soooooo into LT1's....why dont you race my friend scott?

oh and my LT1 had 48K when i took it home. why did i get rid of it you ask? it was a lemon. i was LS1 shopping but put it on hold because ive never owned a mustang.
