Take either a LS1 Camaro or TransAm, slap a S/C on it and/or a single turbo and the Cobra has its ass handed to it. Camaro SS w/single turbo runs mid 11's. No gas.

BTW, your precious S/C'ed Cobra was overrated by Ford.

show me an LT-1/ LS-1 that can put 800 hp to the rear wheels without taking the valve covers off (no internal mods, since if i dont specify you wont understand) and the stock rear suspension. oh, and run a mid 9 @ 150+.
