I just found out that my car ( 1995 V6 ) has a 1989 GT rear end in it. I had no idea... If i wanted to switch out the gears would i have to get them for a 89 now insted of a 95? Thanks guys

Gears are not reated for year, they're rated by rear end size. So, if you have an 89 5.0 rear end, then that means that you should have an 8.8 rear end, so therefor that's the size you'll buy gears for.

Here's my opion on a suggested size:
Manual - 3.55 or 3.73
Auto - 3.73 or 4.10

The only difference is the 7.5 and 8.8, everything else on there is the same. i highly doubt that it's out of an 89 if it's 5 lug unless it was converted as well.

I'll second that. The fox body rear was a few inches narrower too if I remember right.....
