The new bullitt was orginally rumored to have a 400hp n/a 5.4l with a 6-speed trans, but those rumors were obviously false. oh well, i actually thought ford was going to product a bullitt worth spending a little extra cheese on. looks like its gonna be another glorified gt.
I don't think the Bullitt was ever meant to be a really fast car; just a good looking one. I imagine that's what they're going for now. Hopefully the Bullitt intake is just as good or better than the New Edge ones:)
i'm just frustrated because i thought for sure ford would make the bullit their mid range mustang model between the gt and the WAAY overpriced gt500(thanks to all the greedy dealers). so much for that idea
The new Bullitt is still faster and more agile than the 05-08 mustangs!

Wow, well, I don't know where you got your info, but the GT500 is way less than over priced. If you want one for under MSRP, just come to arizona, we have at least 20 in town, not to mention the 2nd production super snake. Just because the asking price is high on one of those cars, doesn't mean thats as low as you can get them for.
I think they are only a couple grand more than the standard GT package, and it comes directly from ford with a warranty and everything. They sound great, especially for a 3V, and they seem to be pretty good performers in more ways than 1. I am fairly impressed with the bullit, and if you aren't, I guess that just means you won't be getting one.
I don't know who rumored that there was going to be a 400hp NA 5.4L and a 6 spd, even the Saleen Parnelli Jones special edition barely came with those specs, and it's a $80,000 car. I wonder if we are just getting to spoiled with the cars we are buying.
Anyone who thinks the bullitt is a dissapointment needs to spend a couple hours behind the wheel of one. My buddy just picked one up and to my surpize, he let me drive it. Its a really nice car and has quite a few upgrades vs the stock GT. I do wish there was something really different performance wise. It would have been nice to see ford send it off the lot with better cams or intake manifold or something that would really set it apart from the GT crowd. Most of the stuff that it comes with can be purchased seperately except for the engine knock management stuff.
I like the new bullitt, i just thought ford was gonna grow some balls and throw a decent sized/powered motor in the mustang with a nice 6-speed to boot. a 6-speed tranny in the gt's is way over due. i was just hoping the rumors foating around the net were true. fords yearly gimics with the gt are getting old fast. don't give me a glass roof, give a new mach 1 or boss, geezzz. not a gt with a cold air intake and suspension
