I think i may be buying a GT500 and upgrading it. I've seen a couple guys with 700rwhp+ but is this on a stock engine?

Yes. They are forged and built to handle a lot more than 700 hp too.

MM&FF once upgraded one to do 800rwhp on stock engine...

But they stated that transmission and driveline problems would come in game...

I didn't know that the GT500 engine came with forged internals.  The car might not be as useless as I thought it was...

*Retarded Question Alert*

Can you buy/use the forged internals for the 5.4 Cobra in our GT engines?

I'm still a newbie to this...lol

I doubt it...

It's like asking if a blower from a GT500 would fit a regular GT ...

Different engines... 5.4 vs 4.6

If I remember correctly, the GT500 has almost the same mill than the Ford GT.
The Ford GT has the aluminum block, the other one don't.

And yes, it's all forged inside.

You seem like a big spender or willing to spend anyway -- why not get the Super Snake with 725 stock? After you sell you're stang then your paying less then a new GT500

if your going to spend that much money on a mustang, you might as well spend a little more and buy a Z06. you will have no competition on the road, besides HEAVILY modded cars. ferrari's and lambo's cant even keep up.

the 09 Z06 is on my spopping list for next year :)

I'm not sure what the engine is good to, but i know its beastly enough that the transmission and rear will have problems with the power long before the block/pistons/rotating assembly do.

That's what they say about the drivetrain when you near 700+HP.
I'd stick a 9' rear in there and maybe give a call to Richmond for the trany.

The SS Package is not sold through Ford. Generally someone Buys a GT500 calls Shelby America and Asks to be put on the Waiting list to have it converted to a SS.  Not saying some Dealership out there hasn't alrerady done that but it's more then likely not very common. The price to play the 725hp game from Shelby America is $28K not encluding Taxes or Shipping there and Back.  A better way to get 700 to the rear wheels is Get the GT500 send to Evolution Performance have them install a Stage 6 (KB Huffer) Package then a 1:3.73 Currie 9" Rearend and Third member. That will run you about $13K, Not encluding Shipping!!

That would be like like buying a Shelby GT and putting mods into it. You are paying a premium for an original Shelby vehicle. I don't think it's good idea to mod it. The SS and KR are in the same category.
The guy should buy a GT500 and put a KB or wait until EVO puts out a TT kit for it. Looking at the amount of R&D they are doing, I bet they will be the first ones out there with a kit like that. I also bet I will be one of their first customer.
I'll have a nice 2.8 KB for sale then.

You guys must not have gotten the flyer from FORD. Yes the GT500 will go to 1000RWHP even on the driveline if the clutch and flywheel are changed.

I have two of the GT'S and a 500 so Ford sends me info all the time. Just got the specs on the Super Snake it's built by Shelby and there will be only 99 made of this car by them. The car Ford is talking about is the KR or King of the road which states 540 RWHP changed the hood. To get this they went to an air intake and a new tune. Lots of little BS stuff but the badging is what they are bragging about.

I would rather have the GT500 with the KB kit and other options done right then a KR or SS. I think the two different cars are messing people up! It did me.

We changed several things on this car to get it to run the way I wanted.

Ford all the way!

John
