I was at the semi local Ford dealership and they had a 2008 Cobra . Sticker $47,000. Beside the sticker another sticker , Adjusted Market Price $65,000 !!! I was there for 10 minutes with my GT just waiting for someone to come out so I could laugh at them. No one showed up.

Id rather hop my GT up then pay that markup, for 65$ ill make my gt smoke that sh it. If your looking for a collectors item then drop the 65$ and park it in you garage!

Heck, if we're talking investments, I'll just buy more real estate. Most of us knew this... When Coletti bailed out and SVT died, Ford called Shelby and it was an automatic rip off from the dealers. As far as I'm concerned, Cobra means Shelby and also means: Ouch!
Unfortunatly, I don't think the Dealers are gonna stop their greedyness (is that a word?) so the GT500 will remain high. I'd love to be wrong though.
Prices have moderated to some degree and $10K ADM deals can be found all day and the $5K overs can be had in most markets with some diligent searching. A relatively few individuals have managed sticker deals.
I checked on Auto Trader the other day. There are several with very low mileage in the low to mid 40k's. Demand is definitely dropping for these, there are only so many people that will pay over $30k for a Mustang.
My friend got one in NC for $49000.00 plus taxes an 08 Orange GT500

Give it another year or so and there will be no markup.

too bad there's still no such thing as a 2008 Cobra!
I guess you mean GT500? Or do Shelby GT's come with snakes on the car anywhere?
Yeah, it's rather confusing since the don't call anything a true Cobra now. The GT500 has the Cobra emblems on it (see pics below), but the Shelby GT (I believe) does not.

Id rather say its NOT a true shelby, has nothing of shelby about it, its not even made or assembled with Carroll in Las Vegas, it's just the present gen SVT Cobra with shelby badges.

ARGH! I see this all the time on this forum, especially from Shelby GT owners. It's A REAL SHELBY! Carroll Shelby himself helped design the GT500, and he would NOT just slap his name on anything if he didn't believe in it.
And if that's not enough? My GT500 is registered with Shelby Automobiles, just like the Shelby GTs. (And ask Amy Boylan, president of Shelby Automobiles - she'll tell you the same thing!) It's still a Shelby. Yes, if you want a vehicle that was actually AT Shelby's plant in NV, then get a Shelby GT. But don't say there's "nothing real" about a Shelby GT500.
Can't we all just get along?
