I dont know if i would pay 20,000 over sticker because They are making 10,000 of them so they are not rare by all means. The likelyhood of them going up in value is slim.
You would be better off buying a Parneli Jones Mustang! There are only 500 made + signed by both Parnelli Jones and Steve Saleen (which retired). You can get them for mid 50's and they are very rare for a production car.

Id rather say its NOT a true shelby, has nothing of shelby about it, its not even made or assembled with Carroll in Las Vegas, it's just the present gen SVT Cobra with shelby badges.
ARGH! I see this all the time on this forum, especially from Shelby GT owners. It's A REAL SHELBY! Carroll Shelby himself helped design the GT500, and he would NOT just slap his name on anything if he didn't believe in it.
And if that's not enough? My GT500 is registered with Shelby Automobiles, just like the Shelby GTs. (And ask Amy Boylan, president of Shelby Automobiles - she'll tell you the same thing!) It's still a Shelby. Yes, if you want a vehicle that was actually AT Shelby's plant in NV, then get a Shelby GT. But don't say there's "nothing real" about a Shelby GT500.
Can't we all just get along?
I agree your GT-500 is just as much a Shelby as anything else. After all, he did have a hand in the development, right? The Shelby GT was totally made, built and designed by Ford with a few bolt on parts added to it.
To me the whole debate about who has a "real" Shelby seems to be a little out of control. After all, if we're going to remember the good times we might as well remember the bad. Shelby lent his name to those awful 80's Dodge vehicles. Yes, he modified him in his plant, too. I guess most people have forgot about the Dodge Omni...
I imagine there is someone out there with a 1983 Dodge Charger Shelby edition who is bragging that his 107 hp ride is just as much a Shelby as a Shelby GT. He would be right, too.

Had to go to Atlanta to get one for 3k over. Then my NC dealer said he order me an 08 for sticker. There will probably be more than 10,000 made for 08 so kiss market correction bs goodbye.
If anyone needs help finding a good deal on one, I have the resources...pm me.
I own a GT500, I would much rather Ford have Built a car very much like mine but with a 4 eye front package, 5.4 4 valve, Blower, 6 Sp. tranny and a3.73 rearend and call it a SuperGT or something like that. I would have bought it in a second. I like the performance To hell with the name, that desn't make it go one damn bit faster!!

I just think I'll continue Ford's mission of hastling anyone who calls the GT500 a "Cobra". They made a point of NOT calling it that and then went and put little snakes all over the thing! What was the story back in the mid-sixties? I mean wasn't Cobra used to refer to the AC Cobra little roadsters? Were they calling the first GT500's "Cobra" back then?
