Where I can drop 2k on a stroker kit and go to town on the stock heads for 500-600 (valves, springs, etc), you can't with a w...you have to drop $1500 on a stroker kit and then 1200 on new aluminum heads.
Not 100% true if consider another option...the Clever. C heads on a W block, similar to what ford did with the Boss302 and exactly what I did. There are some challenges, but it is somewhat unique and always entertaining...
That is the one special piece required, but I have seem them used on ebay and heard that some new company has bought patterns so they can sell new castings...without it, you cannot build one. That is why they are unique
