I've listed my Saleen on the mustang trader. I hate paying ins premiums for a car I don't drive. My new job is 1.5 miles and driving the stang just doesn't make sense anymore. My other car is a Cobra and is much cooler, so I'll save that car for weekends. I will put it in the mustang trader for $7995 OBO. I know the market shows the car is worth about $10,000 but I just want the space in the garage for the new motorcycles. I'm sure I'll take any real offers. Please send this to anyone you know looking for a good track car or commuter because it is a shame for it to sit in my yard and rust. -

Nope! Saleen did not do any brake changes in 1986. Only suspension, body, and interior modifications. Also, those are all original Saleen wheels too. I wish they did have 5 bolts back then, so I could use my extra set of '96 cobra wheels and tires.

Actually the '86 were the first of the EFI cars. 1984 and 1985 Saleens were carbureted. Production numbers were quite low in the mid '80s say about 200-300 cars each year I think. 1986 less than 198 were made, also that was the first year Saleen had an SCCA win with a Saleen mustang (showroom stock). (yes, mdvaldosta, even as old as 1984. These were the cars that started it all. see http://www.saleen.com/corporate/steveBio.htm) :) EFI systems in 1986 were not nearly as impressive as the EEC-5 OBD-2 systems around now, but being a self proclaimed EFI expert.... I have improved this one considerably) cobracrazy37921.4011458333
