$1,000 to spend and on what?? - 10/9/2007 8:30:11 PM    joestang02 Posts: 83 Joined: 10/8/2007 Status: offline would like some reasonable thought here, no turbos, s/c, nitrous. I been reading that a short throw shift is good investment and i like the idea of 3.73 gears but heared they cost alot to install. Anyone know info about a underdrive pulley? RE: $1,000 to spend and on what?? - 10/9/2007 8:47:04 PM    jthorn9 Posts: 11581 Joined: 9/19/2005 From: Pearl River, Louisiana Status: offline If you're really serrious about "waking" up the stang, then you will reconsider, and continue saving to get an S/C. Much better bang for the buck that any other mod other than gears, but they don't add actual power now do they. I say get a tuner, gears, bearing kit, and a limited slip differential, then save a little more for the install, or just call around and get an exact install price, that way you know what to expect. Now all this will run a little over $1000, but you need all of it to properly do a gear swap, and you'll be set for an S/C in the future. RE: $1,000 to spend and on what?? - 10/9/2007 9:28:31 PM    Willem_Black   Posts: 444 Joined: 3/18/2007 Status: offline Yeah, if you're willing to consider an m90...then just do a DIY vortech build.  Save up the other grand or so and do it right.  Tax time is just around the corner, maybe you can do it then.  Or do the gears and short throw.  Install on gears is around 3-400.  Short throw and gears can both be had for 200 a piece.  It's doable if you are frugal and find a good deal on the install. _____________________________ 2000 V6 Slower than balls....
