Shaker + a SC?

Well, my 71 is out the door very soon, got a FOR SURE offer at 8000$ and have 2 other guys coming to check to see if they will do 8500. I want to spend a bit to put a SC on my 06. I have a Shaker ram air on it and i dont want to sacrifice it but dont know what kind of clearence i will need for a SC. Im assuming any type of twin screw's housing will be taller than the stock intake manifold? And then the SC will be to tall and the scoop wont fit on. Also, a centri will put all of the parts in front and have them out of the way so i feel a centri would be my only option. I was looking for a twin screw originally and want to stay that way. The shaker hood is fiberglass and is an inch taller in the front because of the nose point and the shaker scoop takes up quite a bit inside the enigne bay. Does anyone know what i can get away with without getting rid of my shaker? Btw in the last picture you can see that the ram air isnt functional, the PO took off the CAI which itneeds for it to be functional( any cailocated at front drivers side will work) -Jon

i know you want to keep the shaker and still
go with a TS......but i don't see it happening.

the paxton kit from brenspeed, coupled with
your shaker, would be a very nice combo

Thanks for the pics, just shows me that some trimming may have to be done to clear the blower/belts on the right -Jon

Don_W runs a Kenne Bell and has a Shaker on his car. So it can be done.

I just saw a pic with a Twin Screw in a mag or on the forums, so yeah it can be done. Just have to get pics do you know what and where you need to cut, also, find out how he secured the scoop down.

Now... is that worth it, 2900 for a full kit, obo, and iveread they go bad, but a better belt/bearings can rebuild it for 100$ im looking more torwards a centri now due to the fact i cant handle the tq now and looking for somethina bit safer on the engine( low psi centri) What do you think, i can have a kit like this without to much fighting, thats $2k less than a vortech. -Jon

edit: actually comparing ebay prices, 2900$ powerdyne, and 3600$ vortech for the same 450 crank hp -Jon
