The vredesteins are a very high qaulity tire and are very good in the rain and dry. Very good price too. The nexen are good tires but i prefer the vredesteins!! I would run at least a 285 on the back as well.
when i bought my pony wheels, some brand new nexen tires were included. i thought sweet! burnout tires! ....fastforward two months, they hold up increddibly well, performance is good, but could be better as far as handling. as far as hooking up though, they are very good on dry and rain. and they don't throw chunks...usually a good sign right there. good luck. I plan on some others next time around though... (my 15" i just bought some new michelin hydoedge tires for just before i took them off...WOW, you HAVE TO FORCE it to spin and GREAT handling in rain, wet, snow.)

I've got them in 245/45/17s on my stock rims and i like them alot. mine seem to get small holes quite often though. i also have some HTR's that i like even more. came in the same shipment for some reason but i only ordered one set. hehe
just an FYI for you all. Nexen is a subsidiery company of Michelin. I am not saying that they are as god a quality as a Michelin but they are owned by them. in fact if you look on the side of the newer Nexen N3000s coming of hte assembly line you will see what they call a counterfit mark. Its looks like a little Michelin man but a little different. Not sure why they call it a counterfit mark but they do. We are a distributor of the Nexens, the southeastern U.S. distributor warehouse is about 1/2 hour away from our warehouse and we sell a lot of them. So far in the past 3 years we have not had any problems with them at all. We hae mainly 5 tire brands we sell, Nexen, Sumitomo, Nitto, Toyo, and Vredestein. The Nexen has been a really good lower end price point tire for us and we have had good results with them. They recently came out with some new sizes as well. Not that many people here would need a 245 30 22 and a 295 25 22 but our 05-08 mustang guys seem to like em. Mainly because they are the least expensive staggered 22" tires for a Mustang on the market today, but they also have pretty good specs. they look really good (almost like the old Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D2) and they perform well also. Unfortunately they do not make a 285 wide tire that will fit a Mustang. I assume you are looking at 18" bullets because to my knowledge the 17" version is a 17x10.5 and the 18 is an 18x10. You should be fine with a 275 35 18. I assume you are doing an 18x9/18x10 staggered combo. If so then you have a couple of options for your front tire depending on what look you are going for. If you want a flat look then go with the 245 40 18/275 25 18 set up and if you want a raked look do a 265 35 18 in the front. It wil give you just a little rake. But i tell you what. If you hav jsut a little more $$$ i would suggest the 265 35 18/295 35 18 Vredesteins. Thats our most popular selling combo for the 18x9/18x10 bullet combos. we do the whole set up mounted and balanced and ready to bolt on for only $1349.99 for silver, 41399.99 for black, or $1549.99 for chrome. Deep lip on all 4 rims. Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other questions.
