RE: Aurora Mach12 - 2/18/2005 7:14:22 PM    Guest Thats quick as ****... it'd have to be way way up in the atmosphere. the pressure and heat exerted on the exterior would be extreme. The SR-71 Blackbird could only reach Mach 3 which is PLENTY fast enough to out run any SAM or ICBM ever built by any country. But the program was shut down due to the cost of operating and maintaining the fleet. I don't think there would be any use to a plane that can fly mach 12 since the age of satellites. btw... It flys in the exosphere or the one right before it. My take on it's purpose is supposed to be a spy plane.
