"Performance Constant speed oil
consumption 7L/100km "

Owch, 7 litres of oil every 100km (62 miles for you mile types) ?  Maybe this car factory is secretly owned by Valvoline

Sure we will... they just won't connect all the piping.  They'll leave it up to you to finish installing after you purchase the car and take it home.

Oh wait, this isn't nitrous we are talking about?

I love these  threads...

The ZX Auto website has little to do with vehicles that will be marketed in North America, and pretty much nothing to do with Steve.

It's actually ZX Auto NA (NA=North America) that is re-engineering models to U.S. and Canadian specifications and building them in Mexico.  Brand names and model specifications have yet to be formally announced.

While Steve and Billy both are on the Board of Directors of Chamco Auto (based in New Jersey), Steve is leading the team at Southern California-based ZX Auto NA, and includes the talents of some other names you might know... John Spruill and Matt Allison. And yes, after Molly, Sean and Clint were unfortunately let go by orders from Saleen Inc.'s latest CEO, the three accepted positions at ZX Auto NA.

For what it's worth, I know Molly misses the Store immensely, as she built that with her heart and soul. Luckily she laid the groundwork for a pretty good team of people to take over.

I wish them all the best of luck.

I am sorry but everytime I go to look at that site. It has 1970's written all over it. Good Luck Steve and Bill, but as someone mentioned before why couldn't they hook up with GM or even Dodge and carry on the legacy of building unique performance cars.
its really too bad and with Molly and the other Saleens  gone. Is it really a Saleen your buying now?

Since ASC has stepped in (post Chapter 11 Bankruptcy), I'd say you'd be buying a SALINE now days.

I wonder what Roush, and Steeda and those folks think about the Saleen Cars now. I know they are still Saleens and Saleen is the company name but heritage is big  and I think by Steve and others gone now the heritage of the new cars may be dwindling. I know the S7 is the Rockstar Car but the Heritage and Legacy was built on the Fox Cars of the 80's and the SC Cars of the early 90's,  the 94-99 S351 Cars and of course the E cars of 01-07.  I am just disappointed that what Saleen was all about and built on seems to have gone away now. "Power In the Hands of a Few"  And I dont mean the poor quality and warranty issues. We know that the Shelbys of the 60's were not even close to being the best Cars of there day , but they did one thing well , they went fast and they had a reputation of being the king of the hill. Do you think Saleen had, or still has that? I know I bought both of my Saleens because I loved how they looked, performed and the fact that I can drive in NH and Maine and MA and anywhere else on the East Coast probably not see more then 2-3 others on the road.
I hope this is not off topic. It just got me thinking .
Thanks

Saleen already builds the bad boy Vipers and did the concept of the new Camaro......GM and Dodge already know who Steve and Bill are.

Its like buying a 1968 - 1970 Shelby.by that time built by Ford. REAL Shelby enthusiast consider these cars just fancy Mustangs built on a Shelby theme.

Too your point Gary, why wouldn't he  and Billy  have gone there full time to either Dodge or GM?  I just think it's  step back in what he/they were known for. They built the S7 for gods sake now they are trying to get us excited about Toyota knock offs. ?

So is the market going to say any car built by "Saleen" after 07 as just a nice car built on a Ford Mustang platform?  This is interesting in how this all plays out.

You guys bring up an interesting point about the reference to the 69-70 Shelby's.

I have a feeling Steve needed to make his house payment and that's why he took the job for the Chinese car co.

Don't blame him.

I agree, their knowledge, experence, and past accomplishments are well known by these companys I feel sure. If I were either of the gentleman we are talking about either one of these automotive manufactures would have been my first stop. When I got laid off from the auto auction I was working for the next Monday morning I was standing at my previous competitions door when they unlocked it.

We are making fun of and connecting Steve and Billy with the pick-up and SUV that are currently planned to be imported from Mexico. From past information I remember that Steve and Billy will be working on some type performance vehicle to be produced in the future.

The Vipers are pretty much only painted at Saleen's Troy facility -- Steve made the deal to help keep their state-of-the-art paint facility busy after the GT production was completed. The production line area used by the GTs was to be switched over to S331 production.

The Camaro that Saleen worked on was strictly a Transformer movie project to make duplicates of the new Camaro based on the GTO/Monaro platform.

Looks like their designers misunderstood the spirit of the project.  Designers said...."they wanted a truck that would be the bomb!"  Engineers heard....."design a truck that belongs in the Middle East carrying a bomb!"

I can hear the adds now....."for the unsuspecting suicide bomber, choose ZX Admiral....after all, you only get one chance to be right!"

LOL!!! This is the funniest thing I have read all year. I am still tearing up from all the laughing. :-)
