I just got back from purchasing my 50th B'dy present, it's early(Dec) but I'm happy and so is hubby! I bought an '05 white Mustang GT, auto trans, light grey cloth seats, no shaker, and with the X-Plan. Had to drive 50 miles to a dealership in another state cause the one in my town would not accept the X-Plan and wouldn't even talk to me about it. They said they would only make $200 off the sale instead of the $2000! ticked me off!!!......this is MY money we're talking about, not theirs. I could care less if they make NOTHING on the sale. Anyway.....I'm glad I found one, I'd even ordered one yesterday from the Ford place here, then cancelled it today. They won't help me, I won't help them!!

Hey, Higgie.... So, now that you've had your car for awhile, do you still like it as much as you did in the beginning? I've always loved Mustangs. Only owned 1....a '69. I'm internet searching every dealership in the Southeast practically, and can't find the one that has exactly what I want. I'm looking at ordering one in the next couple of months if I can't find one like I like.....
It has been fun. My son and I drove it 3200 miles two weeks ago. We went to Corpus Christi Texas, from Indianapolis Indiana. I also recently (by myself, no kid in the car) took it up to 135mph. The car is amazing, when you factor in handling, ride quality, fuel economy, and quickness, and price !! Maybe not the top Mustang in any of these catagories, but one heck of a blend.
I am considering selling mine while the prices are still high. It's a great car, but the trip to Texas reminded me just how much I enjoy travelling. I want to focus on that the next 7 years, with my son. Before, he gets out of High School in 2012.
I would recomend an 05 Mustang to anyone looking for a smaller sporty car for under $28K. If I sell I will be looking at road touring cars.
Hi, the X-Plan is for Ford Suppliers. My hubby works for a co. who buys Ford Fleet vehicles. I think that's the connection. You can look it up and see what it's about on the Ford website, or do a search for the X-Plan. Anyway, it's a good discount. The dealership here would not accept it here, so we drove 50 miles to one that did. I got my car for basically invoice. The MSRP was $26,270, the sticker on the windshield said $28,580. I told them I'd pay MSRP. Then I asked them if they accepted the x-plan. We bought the car for $24,343. Great deal, I think! Then went to ins. co next day and they halved the quote from 2 mos. ago!! Now we pay right at $1000/6mos for a 2000 Honda Accord EX, 2003 Toyota Tacoma Extended Cab, and 2005 Mustang GT. The mustang is about $400/6mos. Lots better than the $830/6mos I was first quoted.
