Hello Carol, welcome to the forums.

I caught your post in an earlier thread, but will comment on Insurance again.

Wow, that sounds like a lot for insurance. Is the theft rate really high in your area. My record isn't perfect, I am 46 and live in Indiana. I pay $850/year for my 05 GT, 5spd. I got the first bill this week. It is $8.70/month more than my 03 F150 truck was. I use State Farm, did you price them.

I do multicar discount. Have a beater 88 Eldorado, and a 94 Harley.

Best of luck !!

Welcome Carol. I love the 05 GT's, but you might want to shop that insurance around....unless you have a bad driving record.

I always think of ZZ Top when ever I hear LaGrange.

I live in Carrollton, GA and mine is about $100 a year. My car is a 66. Maybe thats why it so cheap.

that is high! I pay $820.00 for full cover for 6 months for two vehicles(Mustang GT 94 and a 2004 Vue) and that is in California, and were I live it has a high theft rate. Excellent driving record. You might want to shop for a lower quote.

Good luck.

Hey, all...thanks for the replies...
I'm not sure why my insurance is so high....I've been with the same ins. co for 20 years and no accidents or tickets on record. This town is not high for crime, that I know of. I'm still shopping around for the best price. I may have to go to an older model Stang instead. I sure would hate to have to give up on the '05 'cause of ins.

Of course all the Tangs are nice. Some Ins. companies seem to do you this way. Shop around, then let them know what you have found. Sometimes, they will give you the "right" rate you should have had all along. I can't imagine that I would pay halk your quote, here in Indianapolis, In.

Good luck !!

Welcome to the forums. Nice pick on the stang, hope you don't rule out what you really want because of insurance. You should get a longtime member discount or something through that company, and if not, go someplace else. If you have a great driving record and all, you should NOT be paying that much. I don't pay but like $200 more every 6mos and i'm 19.

I think they're trying to rip you off.

Best of luck, and if you need help with anything, ask!

I have Nationwide as well, they're excellent with their quotes and also when it comes to making claims. Granted I've only made one claim when someone rearended me, but they were excellent when it came to handling it. Very affordable as well.

Teddybear1255--I just bought the car you want! See sig below!

As for insurance, I have Countrywide, 2 other cars on policy (98 BMW M3, 2000 Dodge Durango), no accidents or tickets, and I'm 44. I also have my sixteen year old insured on the car . I'm paying about $470.00 every six months for the 'stang. Not great, but better than $800.00. I live in Oregon. And Countrywide has GREAT customer service. You might check them out. You will LOVE this car!

I'd definately shop around for a better deal than that. I pay about 725/6 months for full coverage on 2 cars and renters insurance. USAA is a good company, but you have to be military or affiliated to go with them.

Sounds to me like if someone is willing to pay that much they will take it. Most numbers told are way to high. I pay less than $1200 a year for full coverage on 02 Mustang GT and 97 Maxima. I have a 4 points and the wife has a DUI wich is 6 points. I am 33 years old!!
