If it were yellow then i'd have to consider it....even though I find it hard to get comfortable in the S197 seats....

Redfire is a really nice color in person. Looks like Stevie Wonder took the pics.
Imagine This car with Reds ( the guy with the 3 valve on this forum ) wheels and lowering springs. It would look sick.

amazing e-bay deals...there were (2) 281SC models that just went last week on ebay for 39.9k. What a deal! I have never seen such a low price.....it was from some ford dealer in Arkansas.
If you search Ford Mustang Saleen under closed auctions, you will see these cars. Someone got lucky!

Instant depreciation....its a bitch the first few years  Whether its a personal sale or a dealer, some people get in a bind and have to offer a killer deal to unload it quick because of debt. Its a fact of life.
Think about it....if you were in the market would you pay high dollar for a used car when you can buy a brand new one for 5-10k more  I would't - it would have to be a killer deal for me to consider it.

Wow......is everyone SURE you don't want this car?
If i wasn't building a house I'd buy it! I can't imagine being able to pick off an extreme for around $40k (give or take a couple of thousands depending on the reserve price).
Only about 2 hours left and the owner reduced the buy it now price to $49k....
By the way...I haven't checked it out as authentic, but it looks pretty accurate.

Did this thread change or did the auction change I though when this thread first started it was an S-281 SC, not an E. I'm confused because when I first responded to this I though we were talking about an SC going for 40k with a sticker of 60.
Anyway, if that car is a legit S-281 E then something is not checking out on its CarFax as nobody has even BID on it. Or perhaps people have done their homework and its not a true E
A few things I question:
1) Where are the E quarter window fillers?
2) If it only has 600 miles on it, why does the paint look like it could use a good polish & wax, like it hasn't been taken car of. Look at the fender areas just behind the tires (where a mud flap would go) sure looks awfully road worn to me. Perhaps the persons camera sucks and they just don't know how to clean up a car for pics.....major turn off for me.
3) Is that what the E dash plaques look like? Looks weird when I think of my Saleen dash badge. Don't remember it saying S-281, but I'll have to look when I get home
4) I'm sure SEVERAL questions have been asked about this car via ebay, but none of them have been added to the bottom of the listing. Hiding information maybe?
Just a few random thoughts of specualation, something is definitely amiss. Perhaps it was a lemon car or buy back with all the issues some of the early E cars had
