Well of course, even if everything was good with it, it probably wouldn't happen. Too much hassle right now for me. I would like to know the story behind it though

I love the Extremes, but I would not buy a used one, even for $50k ($35k+ less than the new price) for three reasons. First, it sounds like Saleen has had some serious mechanical and electrical issues with some (not all) of the Es. In fact, it sounds like some of the Es have had far more serious problems than any of the SC 281s I've come across. As far as I've seen, the SCs have had mostly minor mechanical/electrical issues like brake squealing (which the new rotors have eliminated on my car), exhaust rattles (which a performance muffler shop was able to fix in 90 seconds for my car), bad tunes (which the 475hp kit seems to have remedied), etc. Second, the E only has a 12-month factory warranty. So if a used E was titled 10 months ago by the original owner, you get left with a 60-day warranty on a very sophisticated and complex sports car that, have been prone to have such serious problems (again, for SOME Es) that Saleen was forced to buy them back as lemons. Knowing this history for some of the Es, I would want at LEAST 12 months of factory warranty once I got ahold of the car. Third, aren't the new Es going to be based on the stroked 302 engine (essentially a lower compression PJ engine)??? If that's not just a rumor, I would like to wait and see how those new E engines hold up... That being said, for all those who currently have an E with few or no problems, I wish I had one of your cars. Preferrably in beryllium...

The auction ended and nobody bought the car. No bids.
