Yes the fastest car in our group was a stang, but it is one of the few. Im not sure if he has it anymore, looks like he races a 95 now. Still some cars havent been run yet this year, so times will improve. If you want details on anyone, let me know. This is just our little club in SC, nothing national. This is what you are up against in the Carolina's. I know one for sure that should be low tens that hasnt run yet, possibly high nines.

lol I would be scared if I ran a low to mid 12 with those mods. I am not one of the people that says ls1 run low 13's to high 12's bonestock consistently. I've seen it done, but by all means a bonestock ls1 is a mid 13 second car 90% of the time. Generally under normal conditions u would need gears, lid, and a cat-back to hit 12's. Add headers and an intake and your going low 12's. Long tubes give u about .3-.5 tenths on an ls1. A couple more runs and I would have been there though

your basing that on one person saying that? come on stop looking for excuses. Stocl LS1's run 13.5 and under no matter what. most are right around 13.2-13.3. Thats a LOW 13 no matter how you look at it. many people gain at least .3 with a cat back and lid. how many time sdo we have to spell this out for you?

I do know a guy with an LS1 that runs 15... That doesn't mean that they all do.

That's very common. My g/f's first Camaro was a fully loaded '01 Z28 with an auto tranny and the dreaded 2.73 gears. She ran a 13.36 @ 105 bone stock, right down to the original paper filter and no-traction-getting stock Goodyears. I was in the other lane when she did it. My friend Alex went 13.23 @ 104 with an all stock '99 (crappy intake manifold) Z28 with 3.23 gears. I only managed 13.52 because for some reason my traction sucked worse than them, my trap speed was good (105). A well-driven 6-speed 3.42-geared hardtop LS1 fbody should have no problems hitting low 13's or 13 flat. 12.9 is not unheard of.

Such words tend to fall on def ears. But I agree 100%. It might just be a cultrue difference. Being an Fbody person I am very well versed in what my fbody brothers do. In contrast not being a mustang guy I tend to be somewhat "out of the loop" in whats commonly known for mustang guys. Hell untill about 2 years ago I didn't know the difference between a 98-99 GT. I think the old ford VS chevy rivilry might be interfering with the comunication of us 2 camps. if I was to tell a fbody n00b that stock LS1's run low 13's stock and 12's with 2 or 3 bolts ons they would probably have no problem beliving me. But telling a mustang guy the same thing would probably tend to be taken a lot worse. Thats probably just a factor of the old learned behavior that we both are suposed to be against each other instead of taking up arms as american muscle against the intruders from the far east
