Default Flashing battery light ( for a friend )

Posting for a friend - 95 mustang, worked a bit, anyway... the battery light is flashing rapidly every once in a while, start up is alittle rough, and the car is backfiring quite often on excelleration.. Also the car is running rich, and we cant figure out why. I tested the electrical system with a computer at work, it says that everything is fine ( alternator and all that stuff ) , but it says replace batter, Battery is 2 weeks old.. ANy ideas?.. thanks guys
