Well I was bored and some people have no idea what the **** to do to take the tiny restrictions out of it.... So here you go guys and gals...

If it looks like this then either its been painted (like mine) or your car has never seen the light of day

Look at the tiny hole the air has to pass through

Yet another small hole (see a pattern on these engines yet?)

Pop can showing you how big the hole can be... (this is the small side BTW)

Pop can in the other side... I think ford did something stupid

Time to grab a drill and a fairly sized drill bit (I think thats 1/4", not that it really matters)

Start a hole

The with the drill at its fatest speed, drag it (put fingers no were near the bit in case it breaks or slipps out)

Then grab the good ol hack saw blade

Here you see the reason you dragged the drill bit... It allows you to now use the hack saw blade to move and twist making the job easier

Now pick you're weapon of choice and go at it. I would use the drill because it works like a hot knife through butter with this plastic

Ones part of the silencer out

Wow, it sure it big in there

Before starting on the other side (above) I noticed a lip on the side I just did, and it got me wondering if it was just pressed in

Long and behold it was

Finding this out it made taking the other sdie out much easier All you need is plyers, and a flat head screw driver, then pry and slip it off.

Looks like a small billy bat almost

Its big enough in there now to hold my pop can and any other thing I feel like putting in there **HINT HINT**

Hey its gutted and I don't use it so... What ever

It would work better on a 91-93 because it's a tube and not a rectangle of a box

It will work, and it will add a throatier underhood sound, its a good idea, when I pulled mine off my first though was to slip it out, nice cutting job though

Thanks a ton, man. My silencer looks nothing like that, but I think mine may just be slipped in aswell. I will find out Sunday. About the being too big once you take out the silencer, I was just planning on slipping PVC pipe in to make it straight, and so it still has the silencer housing for the correct OD.
