I just read about it right now. It will have a live rear axles instead of IRS. It should have 450 hp and be around 40,000. Start saving up people!

I can't wait to see some pics of it. I don't like the new bodystyle, but maybe the cobra will be a bit different or have something special.

I'd give anything to have one, but that won't happen when they come out in 07. Maybe one day.

40 grand plus mark up my friend... youll never get an 07 cobra for MSRP or anything near it for atleast a year... i think itll be around 50 grand or more when all is said and done

well when it's all said and done u should be able to get one for the msrp. it was like that with the 03. the msrp was 35k but people were paying 45-50k but it still is a hell of a bargain.

i have not read further into it, but the old ower of SVT is out of the picture now. some korean dude took over... things might change pretty quick

Anyways, I am exstatic about this new Cobra. I only wish I had the money for that kind of car... a man can dream though.

if the 2007 cobra doesn't come with IRS I might be looking at c6's when it comes time to trade in the 'ol red dragon

and yea actually its more or less 550 HP... not 450... theyr trying to make it compete with the corvette and viper.

that's what I'm waiting for, by that time my 01 cobra will be paid off so I'm planning of trading in for the 07 cobra, for sure!

No IRS? That really sucks. Not everybody likes to drag race; I like road racing (not to be confused with street racing

) and IRS is almost a must.

The 05 chassis is highly superior to the 30 yr old design of the 03/04 Cobras. If they put IRS on it, it would dominate. Without IRS it's a waste of good chassis, and never be able to compete at Vette levels in terms of handling. You can make a flexy foxbody into an 8 second car, but you can't outlap a Viper on Road America or Laguna Seca without major body work.

Currently looking for a late model svt to sit next to the C5.
Know that the vette has tremendous acceleration due to big cube torque, but the IRS makes it almost impossible to do hole shots.
Also, the vette is a high speed type of car rather than a stoplight racer. When the Cameros were around, they were a better bet for around town horsing around.
The vette is a very large car.

Just know what they are before leaping.

Its also out in this weeks autoweek...calling it the gt 500. I don't like the front end...it looks like the V6 front end...no personality. For that much money and that much horsepower I hope it comes out a little more bad-ass looking.

Any guesses how much the gas guzzler tax will be?
I looked at a new GTO that I believe was rated at 17/23 mpg.........$3000 goes to the government as a fuel surcharge.
