I don't know about the 2008's, but the 06's I saw when I bought mine were NOT the GTA's, the tips are quite obvious on the GTA's.It appeared to have standard muffler tips on the few GT-500's I've seen. Perhaps a GT-500 owner can inform us of what's being installed.
I have GT500 take offs on my car - they are NOT the GTA, they are the standard GT type. Although apparently Ford puts the automatic muffler on the GT500 and not the stick - at least if the part numbers I found were accurate. On the V6 they sound great - I have the FRPP X pipe and dual mid pipes and mufflers for the GT500.

They're stock GT mufflers from what I've seen. And from the many I've heard, it's evident. They are very very quiet. It's kind of sad actually, but easily fixed.
Sounds like you are correct. One of the reviews I read when looking for this on Google was that "the stock mufflers don't do the GT500 justice"... Seems a shame on a car like that. Easily corrected i guess but for the price...

THE EXHAUST GURU SEZ: they're stock Mustang GT mufflers. in the way they look, and most definetly the way they sound. they're like a GT, but just deeper. the tone, all that, is exactly the same.
