Ya know I just don't see myself buying a Mustang if I were to spend that amount of money.... Image, to me, is just as important as speed, and most of the population will not recognize a Shelby over a regular Mustang. Its all just Mustangs to them. They want to see a Viper, Porsche, or Corvette among other things, and if I had that money I just dont see a Mustang in my future.
EDIT: I guess I forgot to point out how awesome it was.. If I could afford it, I'd definately consider dropping $50K on the GT500 + SS upgrade, but thats probably the ceiling price for me imo.

yeah, it seams like they want to make a few and get the most $. However, the parts are gonna be for sale, to upgrade yourself, im sure it will be expensive
as much as i would love cruising around in a super snake, i have to agree that i wouldn't spend the cash on one. i LOVE my mustang more than any other car i have ever driven, but if i'm dropping that kind of dough, i'm just not picking up a gt500.
Price released. Only $28K to upgrade your existing GT500 to the 600hp supersnkae package. What a deal! Im guessing a different tune, smaller supercharger pulley and higher psi injectors for the 700+ package?

Nice cars, no dispute there and I love the big power option (who needs warranty anyway LOL) but the worst thing about the whole GT500 thing is the ridiculous pricing It's like, it's for the 'elite few' but all this 'elite few' are going to do is prove they have absolutely no sense.
It takes the affordable bang-for-buck concept well out of it's rightful place IMO. Think, you're still getting the same parts fit and install quality. The same squeaks and rattles that we all accept at the V6 & GT pricing but which become heinous crimes at this end of the market.
I agree with you Marcus...though amazing cars and upgrades for the GT500 the cost doesn't justify the means in anyway for me. That why I am making my own mustang into something close if not better than the GT500 and for much less!

I agree with most of you on the cost for performance. But looking at it as far as a collector's item I doubt that you will seen many of these SS on the road when Mr.Shelby does his first Mod for the big guy upstairs. I have an appointment with SAI on Friday 21 about the SS package and will be doing the tour of the plant.
