I'm a newbie to the list and I want to say hi to ya'll!!! While new to this list I am not new to the Mustang/Ford corral...please forgive me if this subject has been discussed before...
I have a 2003 Mach 1...at the moment it is stock and I am kinda going to go the retro route with it. I have been looking at Wheel Vintiques Magnum 500's 17 x 9.5 all around with Toyo RA-1 275-40-17 tires (good thing I'm a Toyo Tire Dealer). Anyone run this set up yet? Car is stock and I am planning on lowering it with a good adjustable strut/shock/spring set up. Haven't decided on what yet, but have a tendacy to go with a coil over set up. Any experience out there with this type of set up?

The suspension in the Mach1 is drag racing oriented...You should just do lowering springs and use the left over cash to do a minor bolt-on or 2 and play peekaboo with 12 sec passes at the track.
Thanks for the advice. While the Mach 1 is an excellent platform to cruise the 1/4 mile, my main interest as an SCCA racer, are as you can imagine, is the race track that doesn't go straight
Deciding on the bolt ons, long tube 1 5/8" headers X-pipe and CAT back exhaust, strut/shock/sways/springs. I'm looking for a bit of the old 69-70 Mach 1 look hence the Wheel Vintiques Magnum 500's. Preparing for the Shelby America Club Mini-Nationals...should be a hoot!!!
