I have flows on my car, who makes a good set of long tube headers? Also do any of the h or X pipes with highflow cats sound and perform good? I thank the H-pipe with no cats would be to loud for everyday use to work and all. Also what is a good induction system. Is C&L worth the money? Is the Bullitt intake swap practically and worth the $ and effort? Who has the best prices for PRO 5.0 shifters?

thanks

-PB

yea maybe yours... not mine buddy... 92000 and doesn't burn a drop of oil...i have i mac shorties with a mac offraod h pipe and some odd ball mufflers ( they make the care sound like a cigeratte boat outta water)... not too loud for me... if u live in a state that doesn't have emission tets go with the offroad h or x pipe..and it's also proven that an x pipe of any kind will beat out an h pipe... i want an x pipe and flows sooo badly...

Things to consider...Long tubes are great for low end torque, but are not 50 state emissions legal. They eliminate the smog pump. On fox body mustangs, the steering column rest between the long tubes like a cigarette between your fingertips, but not touching (hopefully). This can cause a potential problem. steering can bind in turns. new motor mounts are recommended on older cars...flaming river steering shaft can provide more clearance. some tweeking may be needed, such as heating and moving the tube away, but may also involve moving the break line. Not sure if this problem is the same with newer mustangs. also long tubes hang lower to the ground, meaning everyone will know what you got. also installation may require notching out part of the frame to accomodate the header.

As for shorties... they do come emission legal and utilize the smog pump. equal length take up more room and can make changing spark plugs a bitch. unequal shorties are nice, flow better than stock and fit nice. make sure the X-Pipe is emission legal too if you're going that route. some dont have hook ups for the smog pump. I used to have mac long tubes and spintech x-pipe with hi flow converters.....gave great low end. but not safe with the steering thing. got bbk ceramic shorties and bbk x-pipe. looks great, fits nice, and sounds good (Deeper pulse), and it's street legal too.

I agree that an off road pipe flows WAY better than any cats. But here in NJ (the emissions testing state from hell) If you dont want to be hassled by the cops every time you leave your house you better have cats on the car.
