The past few weeks I have been having idling problems. In fact at one point the car just would turn over. Naturally I look around for some information and thought as to what could be causing this. After some ideas got thrown around I thought it could be the coil pack or the ignition control module. I didn’t have enough money for everything so I install the coil and it still won’t turn over. I got bummed out so I didn’t install the sensor. At the time the car had be at my buddies house so I got it towed home to work on it. Well later that night, pissed off, I made a joke to my brother and said listen to her wanting to die as I turned the key. Wouldn't you know it she started right up. I’m sitting there like wtf. At this point I’m at a loss for words. What I think caused it to turn over was after I got it home I took the negative terminal off the battery for the whole day as I researched different things that could cause it to do what it was doing thus must have reset the computer and everything was okay. At this point like I said I’m confused as to what could be wrong. Instead of installing sensors I come on here and go to the search and search out idling issues. A couple stood out. Apparently there had been issues with CAI and the MAF screen where you install the CAI and don’t put the MAF screen back into the intake. When I first read this I’m like yeah right this is a crook. I get home from work, pop open the hood and put the MAF screen into the intake. Sure enough it doesn't idle rough. In fact it’s as if nothing was ever wrong with it. I am shocked that such a little piece had such a big part in how the car preformed. Reading through the forums there was a lot of debates wither you had to place it in or not. If I understand this right than the 250 dollar intakes that come with the 73mm Mass Air system wouldn’t have this issue where as the ones, like I bought on eBay, use the old mass air system where it must confuse the computer due to all the sudden air increase. Either way luckily I saw this before really blowing a fat wad on this problem. I just figured I’d come on here and share with you my story of my 1994 ford mustang convertible.
