It's like, my Dad bought a Jaguar hood ornimate to put on his Hyundai Sonata, cuz it looks just like a Jaguar.

Full GT Upgrade Package needs to be:
Fog lights
GT side stickers
Rear GT plate
CD with sound clips of a V8 revving
Long tow rope and hook to get the V6 up to GT speeds and acceleration

Sooooooooo, Only GT owners can have fog lights? Im thinking about buying the GT f/r bumpers. Not because I want a GT, but because my state doesnt require a front license plate and I like the clean front end. I want duals so I will install a GT rear cover or cut my V6 cover.

Why do people have to make negative comments about other peoples cars and ideas? Why does anyone care what I do to my car?

I dont get it.

IMO, you can stick a Ferrari Emblem on a Volkswagon but guess what...It's still a Volkswagon!

Ok, bad comparision, I take that back, the V6 vs. GT isn't quite as extreme as a Hyundai vs. Jaguar. I doubt the price is the reason people shy away from the GT. It's just when I see someone post a picture "Real GT" compared to a V6 with the same looking fog lamps, it made me think that. That's the kind of message it sends me.

I guess it's just a preference. Personally, I'd get fog lamps that do not look like the GT's fog lamps. There are a ton of styles, colors. I do like the placement of the GT lamps, it's hard to break away from that. What about blue lights (if that's legal). My pref is to make the car look custom, original, unique, special, not try to make it look like another car or model.

Edit: Of course, the 05 model is made to look retro, so... my argument doesn't stand to well considering that. lol!

In a couple months I will turn 45. Im over the custom "hotrod" looking cars. Ive had plenty of them over the years, but my tastes have changed as Ive gotten older. I now prefer a stock looking appearence. I like them quite, no loud intakes or exhausts, so I like GT take-offs. Mind you, not because I want a "fake" GT, I like the better performance, stock appearence, and most important they are quite.

Not my stereos of course. I like my Jim, Jimmy, and Janice loud, the way they were meant to be heard!

i agree, i am 44 remember and these cars when some of them were not even born yet. anyway i love the new look but with a 17 year old son at home i didn't want the extra ins. or worries of him racing, its fast enough with the 6. I drive it everyday and i have also driven my friends gt but i didnt like the harsh ride. this is my fun and comuter car. as you can see i have added a few things to mine and i get all the looks i need, and have no prob telling people its the 6 because it does hall a$$. anyway i do like the fog lights and it is a hassle that ford did what they did. i was at the dealer that my mac friend works at and we were checking out some things and he printed out the wire schem for me, as it turns out their is a place in the fuse box for the fog relay and he ordered me the gt switch. when it comes in i will try it out. then i will decide on were to put the lights.

For what it's worth, I think everyone should have the option for fog lights. I have them stock on my 05 GT, but would want them on the V6 as well. I really like the "look" on my GT, but would go for the high intensity lights, small and similar to those offered on the Roush, or Saleen, cars.

Talk about cool.

afixer, Will you share the wiring diagram? When I put fogs on if I cant use the factory switch Im going to use a remote. No hacking into wires or drilling holes in my new baby. My family tends to keep Mustangs for a long time. I had my 88GT for 11 years, the family asked why I sold a new car when I let it go.

so the switch does wire right up and the wire goes to the smart juction on the pass side behind the kick. also the wireing from the panel to the fuse block is their. but for some reason the smart box wont send the ground through. we hooked it up to the confuser to see if we had to do something but that dint work. hum but with the relay in if i ground the triger wire coming out of the back of the smart box it clicks the relay and lights up the switch. dont give up yet wor working on it still

I'm 43 and I remember when I was a kid that a guy down the street from us that bought a brand new '70. It was yellow with black stripes and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. My younger brother has had 5 Stangs over the years, but this will be my first.

I've got an 18 year old at home. I might let him sit in it when I finally get it! Just to be safe, I ordered the manual tranny. He doesn't know how to drive one!

This guy found a way. Plus I think he gives an excellent how to. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/830418/5 check it out. At least you won't have to buy to many parts. A nice cheap mod I would say.

I have sent this to several people because of the problems I had when installing my kit. the kit and instructions were fine but as the seller told me, sometimes they go in easy and sometimes they don't. Well mine didn't so I came up with this fix and nothing can be seen. Also I think it fits better along the bottom with less gap. I tried attaching to this message, hope it works.

Didn't have time to read the whole thread but... if your looking to do fog lights on your v6 your best off getting the full kit from Casco. I got the Front, Rear and Side Gt parts from him last week (came in perfect condition) and put them on and it looks great and was pretty easy to install. Only ran me $620 (was an ebay auction) and included two Gt take off mufflers but i'm going with a magnaflow dual system so we didnt put them on.
