Okay I have a question on who would win this race.

My friend has a 2000 Toyota Celica GT-S with the 1.8L 6 spd.
I think 180hp/130tq or something.
I'm sure he is stock, he just got it.

I have an 89 LX 5.0 with a BBK CAI, Flowmaster Catback exhaust, and Accel ignition system.
Also a BnM shift improver kit on my AOD. I plan on putting some underdrive pullies on soon, too.

He says he will beat me no problem, idk that is what he said when he had his integra w/ CAI and exhaust, but when I beat him he said, "yeah you have a 5.0L."
I beat an 02 civic "VTEC" with full intake, full exhaust, ud pullies, a racing clutch, and lightweight rims. I had my brother in my car too.

Tell me what you guys think.

if he can drive he has you from a roll... and may have you from a dig if you screw up trust me on that one

the GT-S runs alot faster than people think they do, drivers race with a S197 V6

The Celica is very light but it will still only put about 140 to the wheels. Yuo should win this one.

The 2000 model GTS is the fastest year made out of the 00-05's.  They can and have hit 14.7-14.8 stock in the 1/4 mile, but thats only the 6spd version.  The autos run 16's all day.  If he can drive really good than I think he will get you, but if he isnt that great of a driver, he will run anywhere from 15.1-15.5.  Your auto is killing you, but you never know about the driver mod he has.

Actually I've seen a few put down around 160 and I seen alot with just a Fidanza flywheel put down about 170 to the wheels, and they only weigh 2500lbs.

Pratice your launch, make sure any baics are covered.
Also, it might be worth while to save your money for a chip or gears rather than getting UDP's now.

Yeah the 6 speed definetely has a big advantage over the auto version. But, you should still beat him.
