This may be old news to everyone here (and prob not the right section, mods feel free to move to wherever fits best, I hang out in this one exclusively so I figured this was the best place as it seems to effect all modular ford engines from 97-04)

All I can say is thankfully I had a certified pre-owned or I would have had to shell out 2 grand to get the head replaced.

Just toolin around minding my own business when all of a sudden my car starts sounding like a model T. Pop pop pop pop pop. I pull over and eventually diagnose a plug has come out. Put it in as best as I could but it was barely hangin on by a thread. After about a week Ford warranties it and replaces the head as there are no more threads left. I have never done anything with the plugs. After doing a quick google search I come across these two:

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2005/ford_spark_plugs.html

They did make it right (at least in my case) but I wish I would have known about it sooner. Sounds like checking the torques on em at oil change time would have kept it from happening. Just wanted to let my friends here know. Consider yourselves warned

BTW my car had 60k on it at the time.
