Right now I have 235/50/18 all around, but I want to get fatter tires in back.  285/40/18 is the size I want to go with.  ? is, will it look funny?  Only reason I "liked" to do this is I want to use up front tires, then use 2 that were on the rear, finally after those 4 tires are gone I can get what I want.  Make sense?  It's not my DD.

Here are specs of 2:
Will the rear look weird if I do this?  It's not lowered right now.  Will be lowered, but not anytime soon.

Keep in mind that those 285/40-18's aren't meant to be mounted on wheels that are narrower than 18 x 9.5, so if what you have now is 18 x 8's, they aren't going to cut it.

Thought these are 18 x 8.5 on the Gt's. Guess I'm going to have to wait till I wear out these.

It's pretty much your widest approved option.  All the 265 and wider I found at Tire Rack want at least 9".
