ORIGINAL: 94Blk5.0 Before you go next time make sure your oil is clean as is the tranny fliud and gear oil. Use a K&N filter recharger cleaner and oil on you air filter, clean out the thottle body, change the fuel filter, run some injector cleaner, and checkthe tire prressure: run 38-40psi front and 35-38 rear. Thats the basic stuff I can think of right now. Turn TC off, and OD does not matter. Also the driver: launch? experience with car? He he just flooring it, and hoping for the best? Also let the car cool down before you run. I bet if you were drivng, you would be able to knock off a few tenth because you have had the most seat time in it. i def have to do some of those things you said... but the next time i go to the track, i should be racing a GT non pi gt?

i have an 02 auto vert and i had the same time with an 84.3?? trap and the same 60' time, if you could find a way to improve the short time, (2.2) should be good for high 15s as thats what i trapped in my camaro with a 60 of 2.2

It might also be a good idea to check the MAF senor. The wire can become dirty, thus reducing power.

Or you could go the 96-98 Cobra route. 305HP, stock 3.27 gears and can be had for $7500.

94-98 V6, GT, Cobra are on the same platform as the 99-04 V6 and GT. The interior is the same, and the overall body shape is similar. You will be surpised how good they look esp with the 96-98 hood. If your cousin doen't have a Cobra, it obviously is not the same car. With the Cobra, you are looking at better 1/4 times, better handling, and breaks. It is going to take some bolt-ons on 99-04 GT to achieve what a stock Cobra will do, and the intial car price is lower in some cases.
