Default Challenger plans fading, camero going strong

Well it looks like the Dodge Challenger will only be Limited Production,
LEFT LANE NEWS
Dodge Challenger

It Looks Like the SS Camero will be getting the LS3 450hp capable of running on E85. which is 105 Octaine and be priced aroung 32K
This will suck for the Mustang still lagging behind at 300hp, when toyota and Honda are producing v6's with 300hp.

Ow...YEAH. Also I saw on Autoblog that GM isn't getting rid of the LS7. The Vette is getting 3 motors LS3, LS7, and LS9. Now for a while I was considering buying a C6, but now I'm not sure. If they put that direct injection on the LS7 for the Camaro that would be around 550hp, wholly viper power.

the plans for the challenger the whole time have been to start it off with a low production model, with the initial batch being without any options, so those who want one, will pay top dollar for a cookie cutter car...rumors vary as to how the cars will be made, but the most popular rumors state that it will come only with the 6.1L, and an auto trans, and in 1 or 2 colors. everything else about the car will be standard. once they have gotten this group on the road, they plan to release a full scale production with a V6 and a variety of V8s, such as the 5.7L and the 6.1L...with the already available for crate sale 6.4L engine waiting in the wings...who knows for what.

lets keep in mind that those sites are filled with rumors, which may or may not prove to be true...until the manufacturer makes things official, its all just a rumor.

also, who cares if the challenger isnt sold in europe? that is no surprise, as DCX hinted to that a year or so back.

So Ford cuts alot of corners, and puts a live rear end, and drops a supercharger to get 500 hp, and the msrp is still $42,000. You honestly think GM can make a 450 hp, all engine, independent rear suspension car at $32,000?!?! HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Well, I guess Ford made the Terminator at $33,000 msrp with 420 hp (it was underated) and independent rear. That was a few years ago, but we will see.

+1 Anyone who thinks they will be touching a 450+hp 5th gen for less than 36K is smoking da good s**t. 32K?.........come on. The MSRP on the LS2 GTO was 31-33K, and the new Camaro will be more cost intensive than that car was......plus have a better motor. Cars don't get cheaper, people, they get more expensive. Otherwise we'd be paying under 20K for an S197 GT by now.
