What's up everyone, I'm pretty new to the Mustang world and I just recently bought a V6 07 automatic. I was wondering what are the necessary steps to increase the h/p?

Since the V6 is only at 210 hp, I'm looking for a cheap but sufficient way to increase the hp to 250-300 without a supercharger...

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong thread...

You can't get to 300 without a supercharger. You can get about 25-30 hp out of a CAI and tune.

you can probably squeeze out 30 hp from CAI/Tune, anothe 15 hp (if lucky) from exhaust, 10 hp from underdrive pulley, system maybe 5 hp from headers, and about 10 from a shaker system (on dyno's the shaker may only give 1 or 2 hp gains but in order for it to work properly you need to ram air into it and can only do that when driving)

so all together and spending about 2 grand you could put out 280bhp im guessing.

When I first read this...I thought you meant the stereo system. Man do I feel dumb right now...hehehe

Uh...but on topic. I agree with Dennis. I'm doing everything in that post as soon as I get the cash. Good luck!

or if you still want significant power comparable to a GT, you can get a Vortech 8psi for about $3600 or less. not a bad deal.

You probably could do this without a super or turbocharger, just a lot of people don't know about it. Heads from supersix motorsports have been dyno'd giving 40rwhp gains=45flywheel hp that'll cost $2k plus a few hundread for install. Plus 30hp from a cai/tuner combo(SCT/an any tunable CAI is good) u could get for $600, probably less. That'd put u at 285hp flywheel. You can get about 10hp from an axle-back(high flow muffler) maybe JBA, Flowmaster, or MRT for $200 and u can put that on urself. That's 295hp there. So, about $3.2-$3.5k for 295HP! Pretty good and a lot more reliable than forced induction. If u want more:
-UDP-8rwhp $300 including new belt-installs easy
-Gears don't give hp, but make u rev quicker and a bit quicker-$200 install $200 but it's suggested to have a t-lok installed with them to have power to both rear wheels. add another $300. 4.10's would make u a half second quicker(=+25hp) if u don't have traction problems and 3.73's half of 4.10's.
-Lightweight Driveshaft-10rwhp and 30lbs off of car-$400 +$50-$100 for install.
-Dyno Tune-$200 for about 10-15hp after u've done a lo of mods
-Could have added a cam to the heads for another $600-$900 a couple hundread for install and that should be good for at least 25hp.
-U'll probably have traction issues after this so u might want to invest in good tires and/or suspension mods. Rear Lower Control Arms are suggested-$200 install another $100-$200.
Good Luck!

I was wrong on the heads from supersix, u can get them cheaper, $1.5k if u return ur core. So that would be 295HP for $2.7k-$3k. Good Luck!

I'd rather go my way with the bolt-ons because if/when you sell the car, you can sell the parts seperately, and make more money.

A recent post form VMP tuning showed 210RWHP and 247RWTQ from a power package they offer. CAI, tune, and a GT take-off muffler. Thats probably ~240ish at the flywheel. You would really like that. Cheack out the VMP website for more info.

Rdot9- that is one sweet looking car. damn

Yeh, I no that's a lot of stuff u can do to ur car, the 4.0's have lot's of potential. A few people supercharged on here have dyno's that would put them over 500hp flywheel. But if u want a ton of power, I'd suggest stage 2+ heads and cam, forged internals, and intercooled turbocharger. That would run about $7-$7.6k w/o install and could get u around 600hp+ if u run around 14psi and that would be a monster of a drag car, easily 10 second car. Good Luck!

Not sure if anyone has done them, but if ur doing heads u might as well spend the extra $250 for 20cfm/16cfm exhaust more and you'll also get stainless steel valves. I am thinking stage 3 heads for me with their cam and that should net me at least 65hp for $3k which would put me over 300hp with my mods now and that would make me happy! b/c then I can easily take gt's with my 4.10's, t-lok, control arms, and aluminum driveshaft!
