I'm looking to get an 05-07 'stang. Curious if the pony package is worth it. I realize 06 is probably the best pony package year as it comes with the GT sway bars. If I got a 'stang without the pony package, how much would it cost to add the fog lights and grill? Is it a hard install?

Well in 06 it came with the sways...which I dont think they do anymore. Also, you get the emblems and the grill. If you buy a regular pony, and ask Ford to put it in, it is going to cost a lot. The grill is about 300, the lights are 80, the switch is 90, and the wires are ~50. If you buy them used you can get the entire thing for about 300-400.
Personally, I would not get the 07+ pony packages. I have an 06 one, but I pulled the grill lol...so it only leaves me with the sways and emblems...

What's amazing to me is that people are trying to sell 06 pony package cars for 17-18k where you can find an 06 premium with ~20k miles for 14k. Last I checked, the pony package was only a $750 option, so what gives?
I dont know where the idea came from that the 07+ does not have the additional sway bars. That is NOT accurate. The 07+ DOES come with the additonal sways.

I know Ford offered the Pny Pack. option for free back at the beginning of the summer. They may do it again soon. With Ford incentives plus some other discounts, I got mine with 3 miles on it for $19K. I know there are some other members who purchased theirs for less.

I dont like the pony grill. I think it's ugly. Off topic...sorry but didn't want to start a new thread just for this question. I was in the garage smoking and noticed the sprayers for the windshield. The passenger sprayer is closer to the windshield then the drivers. Is this the way on everyone's or am I crazy????? It looks crooked if you stand by the front drivers tire and look across the hood.

I think it looks better than the GT fog lights. The GT fog lights look like the car has 4 head lights. At least the PP one looks like a classic.....but hey to each their own!
The 07 comes with anti sway bars. They're pretty hard to miss.
To answer the original question, yes, the pony package is totally worth it. I actually prefer the grill to the GT version, and the wheels/tires give the car a much nicer stance than a stock v6.
I don't know about the 07's but my 06 pony pkg came with alot for the I think 1100 including shaker 500, 17" GT bullitt wheels, Grill with fog lights, Pony emblems, sway bars.

I think the PP is 'worth it' too. Yes as confirmed above, the '07 does have sway bar(s), though I was thinking it was just the rear sway bar not the front one too? I can see the rear one walking up to the car from the rear but I've never been under it to visually verify the front one. Regardless it handles MUCH better with that rear sway plus the 17" wheels and Pirelli tires vs. no sway and 16" el-cheapo tires that you get without the PP. I opted for the ABS/TCS too.
I think it's worth it on appearance too... I LOVE my PP grille and fogs. I wouldn't trade it for the bug-eye GT fogs if they were offered to me free. The extra pony badges are a nice touch too.
Just depends on what you are looking for I guess.
