Please Mr. Ford Salesman, dont sell me what I dont need.
Get the basic $17,087 08 stocker V6 and mod away. What
fun is it buying with all the goodies already there. Plus you
get what you want in the end and nothing you dont. Do you
really need the forum to make up your mind for you?
Do what makes you happy.

The only thing I got that I didn't want on my PP was the Sirius Sat. Radio. It was good for the 6 months of free service, but after that I couldn't see paying $10 or so a month for music. I guess it would be different if I drove it across the country all the time.

So is the Sirius receiver still sitting in your trunk?  Ever think of removing and selling it and the wiring?

Yep.....still sitting on my trunk. If I remove it, won't it leave a hole?

The antenna would leave a hole in your trunk lid, but the Sirius receiver itself is behind the panel on the passenger side of the trunk - that can come out, along with the wiring up to the Shaker head unit - you just have a useless antenna on the trunk lid to deal with, unless you find someone to swap out trunk lids.

I have the 07 PP and am happy with what I got for $750, grill/lights, 17"rims, spoiler, badges etc.

The ABS/TCS was extra on the 07 for I beleive $495.

FWIW, in late '07 the Pony Package option is priced at $750 and the ALB/TC option is priced at $775.

Is it worth it? Well for me if the Pony Package had not been available, I wouldn't have purchased a new Mustang with the current factory offerings. I realy don't care that much about performance, this purchase was all about retro styling for me.

+1 and a billion!!!

I was always a chevrolet guy and never ever had a interest in owning a mustang until last year I was looking at the new dealerships in my area for a Trans-Am someone might have traded in.  When I saw the alloy pony package at the Ford Dealership I was in love at first sight.  After I looked at the sticker and saw I could buy this beauty at sticker brand new 07 model for the same money I was prepared to pay for a used 2002 Trans am, it was a no brainer.  The retro drew me to it, looks like the 60's mustangs.

Me too! When I sold my '82 GT four years ago, I vowed then that I would buy one of the '05+ Mustangs. It's funny how on some other threads other Mustang owners particularly the Edge owners love to bash the style and retro looks of our cars. They say it looks large and dopey. I think there is just a little bit of jealousy in their thinking.

When I first saw the debut of the '05 Mustang in my Motor Trend Mag. I said "Be still my beating heart!"

Got my 17" Bullitt take-off rims for $225 inc S/H off eBay. Whos sellin them for over $600?
Never seen a set go for $600 on eBay. $400 tops with S/H for the black 17" bullitts. The
black ones are rare on eBay but the silver, polished and argent ones are a plenty available.

I finally broke down and went for the new mustang, V6 pony package, because of the retro styling and to keep costs down. I'd been searching for a '66 fastback in driveable condition and hadn't found one...

This is a really stupid question, but what do the special floor mats look like? The ones that came in mine are plain and really cheap looking.  Plus, there are no mats in the back.  I didn't even realize it came with special mats until after I got it home and started looking at my sticker and everything. I think I got the wrong ones but I don't want to grouch at the dealership if I'm in the wrong.

I like the grille the best, my 06 vert has all the goodies less the grille, looking to obtain the grille and red stripes

That's true what you say about the New Edge owners. Granted, I'm sure it isn't all of them, but in the two years I've had my Mustang, NOT ONCE has an Edge owner waved to me or acknowledged me on the road. They look, then quickly look away as if to say they're better than me. At the same time, most S197 GT owners (and practically no S197 V6ers) I see wave to me or give me a friendly thumbs up or peace sign. Even owners of vintage Mustangs acknowledge me. So yeah, you're right.

Anyway, when I got my Mustang I'd never before seen the Pony Package. I saw it on my car and I knew that's what I wanted. Around here Tungsten is a pretty uncommon color, so I feel like it gets a little more attention than it would if it was maybe white or black or red. I don't remember what it cost... I believe it was like $1,500 for the package, but everytime I see a regular V6 with that wide-mouth grill and nasty looking 16" wheels with whimpy looking tires I cringe and thank goodness I got the Pony Package. No offense, anyone.

The Pony mats have a small "Mustang" badge on them, silver, running parallel to the side sills.  It is less than an inch wide, and maybe 4 inches long.  They are like a small version of the silver insert in the side sills on the interior upgrade package.

There aren't any rear mats.

I included pictures of my fully loaded 2007 with pony package, so if you don't know if you want or know what the pony package is, look I got pictures attached.  Also since my dad has sirius in his mustang my service only cost $6 a month, so you get 50% discount if you already have an acount or connect your acount to a friends.

i'm VERY happy with my non-PP stang, except for the wheels which i already changed. i think it all depends on the color of the car. mine is black and to me, the grill looks better all black since it blends into the body color. one thing that would make it even better would be the chin spoiler from 3dcarbon.

"Looks like someone is lacking!! "

pperin +1 on that.

I mean no offense when I say this, but I think the base v6 is just too......plain, the tires are skinny and look like they belong on a hybrid car, the wheels look like plastic, and like they came off an 88' oldsmobile, the front looks like the factory forgot to add something, and the no spoiler makes it look like the owner doesnt even want performance!

HOWEVER sancho, your car looks great without the spoiler and looks real nice with the new wheels, tires, and exhaust (looks real retro). and I LOVE NonStopRed's black billitt grill w/ pony emblem.

I love the PP on my car tho, it goves it a nice retro look, and it had a real nice appearance for the time I didnt have any mods (now it look fantastic). The only thing I think ford should have done to the v6's was to add the GT rocker panels, and a chin spoiler, or some sort of ground effect on the front bumper.

Me and my dad are pretty sure there is a way to connect your account to a friends. You don't tell Sirius that, this is what we think: You have your friend register your car under their account (Sirius thinks its their car) and all you have to do is pay your friend by the month or year. My cars Sirius account is registered under my dads Sirius account and he pays $12 a month and I pay $6. Here is the link to where it says 50% off http://www.sirius.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Sirius/Page&c=Page&cid=1150907696769&

Also I do have the IUP, I have everything you can get but navigation. And it took me 5 months of searching local dealerships to find my car with the options and it was hard also to find a vista blue with side airbags.
