A fery good friend of mine works at the local chvey dealership and he got to take out a '08 C6 for the weekend...you'll never guess what we did. [sm=devilgrin.gif]
We ran 5 different times.
From a dig he jumped out on my '06 by about a car (he was A6) and by the time we hit 100 I was 1 car up on him.
from a 10 MPH roll I pulled 1 1/2 cars by 100.
from a 40 roll I got him by 1 car at 100
from a 60 roll it was 1/2 a car.
from 80 to 130 I had him by 2 cars
from 80 to warp speed it was about 5 cars.
All in all the '08 vette is an absolute moster in stock form. I'm runing full exhaust, CAI, and a dyno tune and the races were very very close. I think once the '08 Vette is broke in properly the races will get closer and closer. I think with break in and a CAI he would have run even with me.
Oh...it was a base model too...not Z51.

What do you think you have at the wheels after your mods?? I would have thought the outcome would have been the opposite after seeing the real output of the LS3.... Gears equal?

Well that should give older C6 owner's comfort in knowing they don't need to trade up just yet. For a couple grand investedthey can just edge out the newest models

A full exhaust,tune,cai will get you 380-400whp depending on tune, transmission......I know Chevy has a option final gear ratio for the 2008A6, 3.15's.....Non-option gears are 2.56's....

I'm 383/381 and that was on a crazy hot day in Tucson AZ....at 3600 ft. It was a nice cool day when we raced so I'm guessing I'm closer to 390/390

and thats why if i ever bought a vette, it would be from the factory. i drove an 04 z06 when i worked at gm. fast as hell. and i know how the treatment goes on the new performance cars sitting on the lot. i feel bad for that 08... i got on stuff every so often but i didnt beat the piss outta em, let alone that many times. try not to break it while breaking it in

The new Vette's are insane! He's got at least 30HP more then a pre-08 C6, and a superior stock intake and steering.
There's predictions with just CAI and cat back (muffler only), the '08's will break high 11's!!!
