If they're from a reputable seller, then hell yes. It's all around better, economy wise, to just buy a car with a V8 than to do the swap from something, like in your case a 4 cylinder, to a V8. Reason being, everything has to be changed, and by everything, I mean damn near everything. The only thing an I4 Mustang and an LX 5.0 have in common is the basic body and interior design, but everything from the suspesion, to the drivetrain, to the electronics, and cooling is different.

Nope, way, way, way more to it than that.
Think of it like this, a car with a four cylinder is built to be driven with a four cylinder engine, everything in that car is rated to the nessesary specs to run off of four cylinder engine, and a car with an eight cylinder engine is made to be ran with an eight cylinder engine. If you put a four cylinder engine in a car made to run with an eight, it will run, but with a few problems, but a car with a four that suddenly goes to an eight will run into all kinds of problems as specs for a four and specs for an eight, are obviously going to be totally different.
I don't know your situation with car availability, but I do know the knowledge situation. I'd just get another car if you want a V8. Cause if you had the knowledge and another car to tool around while this one was being swapped, I say have a ball and do the swap over a few weeks or so. But if you couldn't tell if it was a 4 cylinder or a V8, you probably shouldn't be swapping motors.

Dude, pop the hood, take a pic and post it up. We'll tell you what you got. It is most likely a 4 or 6 though. If it's an inheretience car then I assume someone old owned it, so that actually makes it a very good canidate for a 5.0 swap and some real work. I'm sure the body and frame is perfect, old people tend to not tear stuff up.
Don't listen to the people giving you ****, most of them don't remeber that people aren't born knowing everything about everything, and even a few them still don't know **** but preach like they do.

+1. Spoke is funny sometimes, though.
Actually, there's maybe a total of 4 or 5 people that frequent the sixer section that actually know something and are worth listening to on actual tech advice. The rest either know nothing more than exhaust and CAI's, or nothing at all.
looks like you don't know to much either besides an Intake and exhaust.(same with me, but i don't go around acting like i'm a guru.

maybe he can't afford a v8, even if it is just a couple of k's. "I don't know your situation with car availability," I know you said that, but why do you post pointless things that don't help.
Sorry for getting off topic, but had to "right some wrongs"

Well, I never claimed to be a guru. I'm not gonna try and defend my knowledge of cars and performance (I'm a mechanic, BTW) on the internet, though.
Oh, also, you have no business calling out someone on their knowledge and advice when you've been here less than a month.
So.....

haha very funny. You make a good point.
Next time don't insult and bash everyone for the littlest things. Agree?
You realize it's not your responsibility to right every wrong on the forum, right? Especially since I didn't do anything wrong. It's funny how you sixer owners think anything someone with a "big bad V8" says anything, it's meant to bash or ridicule V6 owners. Have any other V8 owners noticed this?

oh please xemeth, you've been coming here long enough to know i always post in here and people always seem to go up in arms when a v8 owner is near. it's annoying sometimes, but you get used to it.
v8 owner: "hey guys, how's it going?" v6 owner: "shutup! you think you're so cool, how come you didn't buy a cobra!?" "v8 owner: "sorry.."

Well I agree that a lot of people on the sixer forum dont know too much, I'm no pro, but I can't help but get the impression that you think you're better than us. I've been on the 4.6 board and know that theres some uneducated people up there as well. This was directed at xemeth btw. I mean cmon man look at the total members on this forum. You really think that the majority of v8 owners know their ****? Sorry i'm kinda calling you out, if my impression of you is incorrect then I apologize.

I said nothing about V8 owners knowing more than V6 owners. However, on this board, that is the case. Not all V8 owners know their ****, but there's a higher number of them that do when compared to the V6 forum.
And it depends on what you mean by better. Overall better people, well you can't judge that on a forum either way. Is the V8 section better for tech help and knowledge than the V6 section? Yes. 100%. Am I personally better at tech stuff than you? I dunno. Am I personally better at tech stuff than the V6 section as a whole? I sure hope so, I'm a mechanic. I'd have no business working on cars if I wasn't, lol.

Haha............should of bought a 5.0. Too bad they're slow as balls stock by modern stnadards, but back in the day, they were spectacular.
Oh, ehh.......... I've noticed no V8 bashing directed at me, even though I have one, must be the pictures of my old six in my album. I've also noticed that Nanaki rarely gets it.
